Chapter 83: What Are You Doing?!

Mandyโ€™s POV:

+8 Pearls

I thought that once I posted that online, Hayleyโ€™s reputation would be ruined for good. But when I logged back in to check, I was stunned to find that the entire internet was blasting me instead! โ€œWhat is going on?โ€ I gasped, dumbfounded.

As I clicked on the article and scrolled through the comments, my confusion deepened. I was shocked to learn that Hayley had ties to the influential Southwells of the Midnight Pack! Even more surprising was that all four Southwell brothers took turns driving her to school each day.

โ€œHow is that even possible?โ€ I had always thought of Hayley as a low-ranking wolf from a remote pack. Little did I know, she was backed by the entire Southwells. And the guy I had seen todayโ€”could he really be Benjamin, the alpha of the Midnight Pack?

No wonder my wolf couldnโ€™t identify his rank; he must have been hiding his identity just to drive Hayley around. The powerful aura he exuded had indeed hinted at something extraordinary, but I never imagined he was an alpha!

A sweat broke out on my forehead as I hurriedly searched for Alpha Benjaminโ€™s number and dialed it. I hoped it wasnโ€™t too late for an apology. However, when the call connected, a womanโ€™s voice answered, โ€œHello, this is the mental hospital. How can I help you?โ€

Stunned, I wondered if Benjaminโ€™s phone number was really from a mental hospital? Well, given that I had disrespected him without a proper greeting and even dared to flirt with him, I was lucky he hadnโ€™t transformed and torn me apart right then and there. A pang of fear overwhelmed me.

โ€œMandy!โ€ Suddenly, I heard a sharp voice call out to me. I turned to see Lillian and Trista approaching. โ€œYou did this!โ€ Trista lunged at me and snatched my phone away. โ€œWhat are you doing, Trista? Give my phone back!โ€ I shouted in shock.

But Trista ignored me entirely, opening my phone and scrolling through it. โ€œItโ€™s her,โ€ she said, showing the article to Lillian. Lillian frowned as she processed this. She glared at me. The two of them seized my arms, dragging me away against my will.

โ€œHey! What are you doing?!โ€ I screamed, attempting to transform into my wolf form, but they had a firm hold on me. They positioned me directly in front of Hayley.

Watching Lillian and Trista drag Mandy over, I was completely bewildered and had no idea what was happening. โ€œHayley, this w*tch has been spreading malicious rumors about you online!โ€ Trista exclaimed, finally revealing the post on Mandyโ€™s phone.

It was then that everything clicked into place. I struggled to suppress my alpha instincts, fighting the urge to let Hera out and tear this girl apart. Instead, I growled lowly, โ€œDid you do this?โ€ Mandy remained silent, clearly acknowledging her guilt.

I took the phone from Trista, logged into Mandyโ€™s account, and posted a clarification. In her own words, I took responsibility for all the slanderous rumors she had spread about me.

Once I completed the post, Mandyโ€™s name was trending everywhere, and the flood of insults was relentless. To make matters worse, someone had even dug up her scandalous past as a working girl.

I turned to show the post to Mandy. She crumpled to the ground as if all the strength had drained from her. โ€œMandy, you should file the request to move out of our dorm,โ€ Trista said firmly, her tone leaving no room for discussion. Mandy stayed silent, making no move to comply.

โ€œOtherwise, do you want the alpha of the Midnight Pack to kick you out? You must know by now the connection I have with the Southwells,โ€ I warned her. โ€œOr do you want us to transform into wolves and tear you apart piece by piece?โ€

She panicked at my threat, hastily packing her things and fleeing. Once she was gone, Lillian and Trista high-fived each other. Their faces lit up with joy. โ€œWe finally got rid of that annoying pest!โ€

Watching them, a smile crept onto my lips as I remembered how they had defended me. I placed my hands on their shoulders and said, โ€œLetโ€™s go out for a nice dinner tonight. I want to thank you two for having my back.โ€

Lillian and Trista exchanged mischievous glances, a playful grin spreading across their faces. โ€œThen weโ€™re definitely going to feast on you!โ€ they teased. I laughed and nodded. โ€œNo problem, anything you want to eat.โ€

After we finished dinner and returned to school, it was time for our Math Olympiad training. Just like last week, Grant handed us a new set of problems to solve.

โ€œHayley, what did you choose for the last question?โ€ Trista asked as soon as she finished her test. I thought for a moment and replied, โ€œI picked B.โ€ When Trista heard this, her face fell. โ€œI got it wrong again.โ€

I ruffled her hair affectionately and comforted her, โ€œDonโ€™t worry; Iโ€™ll help you study back at the dorm.โ€

As we walked back, someone called out to me, โ€œHayley, thereโ€™s someone waiting for you at the entrance?โ€ Trista and Lillian accompanied me to the school gate. Before we got close, I felt Hera stir within me. When I looked up, I saw Benjamin standing there.
