Chapter 111
Looking at Natasha's closed eyes and puckered lips, Dustin was stunned by her seductive aura.
"What's wrong with your mouth? Does it hurt or something?" Dustin asked, oblivious.
"What are you talking about? I'm letting you kiss me," Natasha explained with frustration.
"Huh?" Dustin's eyes twitched in disbelief as he gasped audibly. He thought to himself, "This can't be a good thing, can it?"
"Fine, if you don't want it that badly, then this will be the last time you'll ever get it," Natasha teased playfully.
"You idiot! If you don't grab this opportunity now, when would you ever get another chance like this!" The one-eyed old man peering from the second floor hollered, sighing deeply and shaking his head in disbelief at Dustin.
"You'd better shut it!" Dustin shouted back, turning and glaring.
However, when he turned back, Natasha's flawless complexion and cherry-red lips caught his attention, making him suddenly realize what he might be missing.
"Anyways, I'm done teasing you. Let's get down to business," Natasha interrupted, continuing, "Edwin recently headhunted the bulk of Harmon Pharmaceuticals' main workforce, so we're looking for leaders to reorganize the team. Given your exceptional medical skills, how about working for me as an honorary chief physician?"
"I don't think I'm a good fit for the job," Dustin grumbled. He was great at healing and saving lives, but leadership wasn't his strong suit, and he had absolutely no experience in that area.
"To be honest, you don't need to do anything. You just need to help me keep an eye on things occasionally. But if you ever decide it's not for you, just hold onto the title until I find another good fit."
Sensing his skepticism, Natasha adopted a pitiful look. "If you don't help me, I'm afraid I can only watch as Edwin obliterates Harmon Pharmaceuticals."
Feeling defeated and unsure how to refuse, he relented. "Fine I suppose I can try."
"I just knew you'd help me! Let's go! Come to my place first, then I can walk you through your duties and responsibilities!" Natasha exclaimed, beaming. She grabbed him and ushered him into her car.
Half an hour later, at Java Joys, Ruth sat with her mother, Jessica, entertaining a few guests: a well-dressed, handsome young man and an older man in a lab coat.
The young man spoke first. "I won't mince words, Ms. Ballard. I'm investigating the traitor and assisting my cousin in taking down Swinton's pharmaceutical market to pave the way for future family developments."
"Natasha can definitely rest easy with your help, Quentin. But you know how bad her temper can get. She doesn't like anyone meddling in her affairs," Jessica replied with a small grin.
"I'm afraid there's nothing else I can do. As long as my cousin doesn't conflict with family interests, I'll support her decisions," Quentin said, sipping his tea.
"Hmph, you're obviously just here to spy on my sister!" Ruth muttered under her breath, scowling. With her sister's engagement to Tyler Grant approaching, the family wanted to take precautions, sending a spy to watch her.
"Are the rumors about Edwin Hummer poaching the workforce and stealing Eternumax's research documents true?" Quentin asked.
"Such rumors surfaced, but I firmly believe Natasha can resolve everything," Jessica said, her expression unwavering.
"Eternumax is the fruit of the Harmons' years of research, a trump card to dominate Swinton's pharmaceutical market. This incident has angered HQ, so they sent an expert," Quentin explained, gesturing to the white-haired old man. "This is Mr. Wangley. His medical research skills are second to none. He'll become Harmon Pharmaceuticals' next chief physician."
But as Quentin finished, a cold voice boomed from outside.
"I've already found the right guy, Quentin. No need to bother Mr. Wangley!" Natasha exclaimed, entering arm in arm with Dustin.
"What!" Quentin gasped, his expression darkening at their affectionate display. He'd heard rumors of Natasha having a "boy toy," but hadn't expected them to be true. If the Grant family heard, the marriage would be greatly affected.
