Chapter 140

Night fell as rain poured down. The streets were deserted. Suddenly, a fleet of black Hummers roared in at high speed, splashing through puddles. They screeched to a halt at the hospital entrance.

Burly men emerged as the car doors opened. One smoked a cigar. He was large, muscular, bearded, and at least six feet tall—a head taller than most. His arms and thighs bulged with muscle.

“Guild Master! He’s still inside; he never left,” the last assassin said, pointing to a floor in the building. He had been waiting for reinforcements while watching Dustin.

“I expected you to handle this alone. Why am I personally involved?” The bearded man narrowed his eyes in displeasure. He was the guild master of the White Dragon guild.

“Guild Master, don’t underestimate him. He took us down like dominoes!” the assassin reported.

“Fine, surround the building. The sooner this is over, the sooner we rest,” Dracor impatiently ordered. He wouldn’t have come personally if not for Edwin’s orders.

“Stop! Who goes there?” A group of suited bodyguards stormed out of the building—the Harmon family’s men.

“What, he had backup? Alright, use them for practice,” Dracor gestured to his men.

“Yes, Guild Master!” His disciples grinned wickedly and charged, attacking the bodyguards with savage ferocity.

“Stop them!” The bodyguards fought back, forming a united front against the guild members.

Chaos erupted. Though well-trained, the bodyguards were no match for the White Dragon guild members. Eventually, they were forced to retreat.

“Who dares oppose the Harmon family?!” A roar interrupted the fight as Stephan arrived with several comrades. He moved through the crowd, repelling the guild members with his internal energy, creating space around him.

“Oh, a martial artist with internal energy? How dare you show off in front of an expert? Get out of the way!” Dracor smirked coldly.

Stephan unleashed a flurry of punches, forcing the guild members back. They were no match for him.

“Reckless fool!” Dracor took a deep breath and unleashed a surge of energy at Stephan. The attack cut through the rain, targeting him directly.

Stephan, sensing the danger, adopted a defensive stance.

“Boom!” A deafening explosion echoed as Stephan’s defense shattered. He was blown back thirty feet, leaving deep gouges in the ground. He slammed into a wall like a ragdoll, spitting out blood.

“Weakling,” Dracor scoffed, disappointed that he hadn't found a worthy opponent.

“Y-you… who are you?” Stephan frowned, staring at the towering figure. The darkness obscured his identity.

“How dare you attack my men without knowing who I am?” Dracor advanced menacingly.

Stephan recognized him as the streetlights illuminated his bearded face.

“Y-you… you are Dracor Milfroy?” Fear spread across Stephan’s face. His worst nightmare had come true.

“Since you know me, this is easy. Kneel and beg for your life. If I’m in a good mood, I might let you go,” Dracor mocked, amused by Stephan’s fear.

“Both of you, tell Mr. Rhys to escape. I’ll hold them off!” Stephan gritted his teeth, preparing for a fight to the death.

“Yes, sir!” The bodyguards ran into the building without hesitation, determined to protect Dustin, even at the cost of their lives.

“Heh, think you can hold me back?” Dracor smirked.

“I’ll buy him time!” Stephan declared.

“Don’t blame me for your death; you asked for it!” Dracor scoffed, then lunged at Stephan like lightning.

“I’m going all out!” Stephan took a deep breath and met Dracor head-on.

They collided with another earth-shattering explosion. Stephan was thrown back as if hit by a truck, his body flying through the air before landing heavily on the ground with a thud. Blood gushed from his mouth and nose; he couldn't even stand.

“Don’t overestimate yourself!” Dracor taunted. Stephan’s internal energy and skills were feeble compared to Dracor’s strength.

“Mr. Rhys, I did my best. I hope I bought you enough time,” Stephan muttered, despair in his eyes as he lay in the rain. Dracor was on a different level; he had reached the highest tier of martial arts and trained his body to be as strong as steel. No wonder he was considered the best martial artist in Swinton. Stephan knew he was no match; he couldn't even put up a decent fight.

“It’s an honor to kill you,” Dracor approached Stephan condescendingly, looking down at him like a bug. He raised his leg to crush Stephan’s chest.

Suddenly, all the hospital’s windows shattered simultaneously. A dark figure swooped down, landing heavily. The tough cement crumbled beneath his feet, large cracks spreading out like a spiderweb.

“Who is it?” Everyone stared in bewildered shock.
