Chapter 191

“What did you just say? A major shareholder?” Julie paused, then laughed. “Hahaha! Have you lost your marbles, Rhys? You? A major shareholder? What a joke!”

“Oh, Rhys, boast to others if you like, but why brag to us? You’re just humiliating yourself!” Matt guffawed. He’d thoroughly investigated Dustin and found him to be, simply put, a good-for-nothing. He might employ underhanded tactics, but he definitely lacked real capabilities.

“Believe me or not, that’s your choice. But I guarantee you won’t get the company’s rights,” Dustin said calmly.

“Hah! You guarantee? How highly you think of yourself! Mr. Marcs is in charge here. One word from him, and the decision is final!” Julie sneered.

“I don’t know any Mr. Marcs, but I’m sure he doesn’t have the authority to do so,” Dustin remained unfazed.

“Hah! And do you? Look in the mirror, sucker! Who are you to say who has authority and who doesn’t?” Julie ridiculed.

“Oh, get out of here, Dustin. Quit embarrassing yourself!” Matt jeered, looking at Dustin like a clown. He still couldn’t believe he’d lost to such a loser twice in a row.

As they spoke, an obese man approached. He was the manager of Harmon Pharmaceuticals.

“Harvey, you’re finally here!” Julie’s eyes lit up. She rushed to him, hooking her arm around his and fawning over him.

“Julie, it’s been a while! You’re lovelier every day,” Mr. Marcs gave Julie a light smack on the behind and a lecherous smile.

“Stop it,” Julie whined coquettishly, twisting away. “Harvey, I have serious business to discuss. Let me introduce you to Matt Laney. He comes from a distinguished Millsburg family.”

“Oh? Mr. Laney? Pleased to meet you!” Mr. Marcs’ eyes lit up, and he immediately shook Matt’s hand. The Laneys were a prestigious family with assets amounting to tens of billions. He considered it an honor to meet someone from the family.

“And this is?” Mr. Marcs’ gaze turned to Dustin.

“He’s just a useless burn. Ignore him,” Julie dismissed Dustin.

“Oh…” Mr. Marcs gave him a contemptuous look.

“To be frank, Mr. Marcs, I’m here for Immortunol. I’m interested in acquiring Harmon’s rights,” Matt cut to the chase.

Mr. Laney, I’m afraid I don’t control the company’s rights,” Mr. Marcs shook his head, feigning ignorance. “Ms. Harmon gave full authority to Mr. Rhys. He decides who gets the rights.”

“Mr. Rhys? Who’s that? Is he powerful?” Julie was curious.

“Mr. Rhys is Harmon Pharmaceuticals’ chief physician, and he’s very close to Ms. Harmon. I heard he developed the Immortunol formula!” Mr. Marcs explained.

“He must be brilliant to create Immortunol! I wonder if I’ll ever meet him!” An expectant expression crossed Julie’s face. She habitually formed connections with people…in bed.

“Mr. Marcs, where is Mr. Rhys? Could you introduce us?” Matt tried his luck.

“Well—” Mr. Marcs hesitated.

“Ah, right, I have a gift for you.” Matt quickly produced a million-dollar check and handed it to Mr. Marcs.

“Hahaha! How generous, Mr. Laney!” Mr. Marcs beamed at the check.

“And about the company’s rights?” Matt prompted.

“Of course, no problem!”
