Chapter 219

Meanwhile, at Peaceful Medical Centre, Dustin was silently reading when a Maybach pulled up. The car door opened, and Phineas emerged, carrying some gills.

"Mr. Rhys," Phineas said, entering with a smile, the arrogance of their first meeting gone.

"Do you need me for something?" Dustin asked indifferently.

"Mr. Rhys, I'm truly sorry about today's incident. Please forgive our ignorance," Phineas said apologetically. He finally understood Dustin's influence—the support of the Harmon family and friendship with Big Bucks Brooks. To borrow three billion dollars, he needed Dustin's forgiveness.

"How could someone like me make the Laney family apologize?" Dustin replied unconcernedly.

"Mr. Rhys, you're young but talented. We admit defeat proudly. Please, show us a way out," Phineas said, bowing his head. Dustin remained silent. Gritting his teeth, Phineas fell to his knees with a thud.

"Mr. Rhys, please accept our family's sincere apologies. Another chance, and you'll be our honored guest forever! I'm willing to offer half—no, a third—of our property as an apology!" Phineas bowed lower, surprising Dustin, who admired the older man's humility.

"What about Caitlyn's cat?" Dustin asked coldly.

"We'll replace it! We'll get her as many cats as she wants!" Phineas vowed frantically.

"Dusty's dead," Caitlyn murmured sadly beside Dustin. "It doesn't matter how many cats you get."

"You heard her. I don't mind forgiving you, but you offended Caitlyn," Dustin shrugged.

"I'm so sorry, Ms. Lawler! I swear it won't happen again! Please forgive me! I've learned my lesson!" Phineas quickly crawled toward Caitlyn and apologized profusely.

"I forgive you, on the condition you never do anything evil again!" Caitlyn declared gravely.

"Definitely! I've learned my lesson," Phineas nodded frantically, his head bowed.

"Since Caitlyn forgives you, I'll let it go. Remember your promise. Half of your properties," Dustin reminded him calmly.

"Of course. Anything to save the Laney family—they're yours!" Phineas dared not object.

Dustin hummed. He was about to speak when his phone rang. It was Dahlia.

Muffled noises were audible as soon as he answered.

"Let me go! I want to go home!" Dahlia demanded weakly.

"What do you mean, 'go home'? Look at the Estelle Hotel! Let's keep drinking," Matt cackled.

"You can go alone. Get lost."

"Fucking slut! Appreciate this chance! You have no say. You're drinking tonight. Get in!"

The phone dropped. The cursing softened and faded.

Dustin's face darkened; the air grew frigid.

"Mr. Rhys?" Phineas shivered.

A loud slap sent Phineas sprawling. "You motherfucker! I hope your son didn't make a mistake, or I'll destroy your entire family!" Dustin stormed out.
