Chapter 58

Silence descended. The atmosphere was so quiet, one could hear a pin drop. Everyone was stunned speechless the moment the elderly gentleman in the suit knelt before Dustin Rhys. No one had remotely expected that such an influential man, one who could make Hunter Anderson grovel, would kneel before Dustin! It was as if he were a slave greeting his master.

What the hell was going on?

"Uh" Chris hummed, freezing in place, his face full of disbelief. He'd thought Dustin was only skilled in fighting, but this man proved far more powerful and influential than he'd imagined. Hunter Anderson was already a significant figure; so why did he grovel before the older gentleman in the suit? Clearly, the gentleman was even more powerful. But why was this big shot kneeling before Dustin Rhys?

How dare that bastard! This was utterly humiliating!

The scene before him revealed the terrifying power of the man he despised, Dustin Rhys. "No that's impossible! Absolutely impossible!" Edward thought, terrified.

From the moment he saw the older man kneel, his spirit was utterly shaken. This shattered his remaining hope of survival, leaving only despair and fear. Who would have thought his perceived lifeline would turn out to be Dustin's servant? What kind of monster had he tangled with? Dustin was utterly unlike Chris and Edward.

At that moment, Travis felt death looming. He knew his fate: he wouldn't leave alive once Dustin's true identity was revealed. If he fought, he and his entire family would be eradicated.

"Dustin, it's been ten years. I can't believe I finally found you!" Sir Francis said, kneeling. Tears streamed down his face, but he didn't care what others thought.

Dustin didn't flinch. He looked at him indifferently, as if he were a complete stranger.

"F*** off!" he screamed, averting his gaze before striding toward Edward. His murderous intent was at its peak.

"P-please don't kill me Please don't kill me. I'll do anything!" Edward whimpered in fear, urinating himself. Even so, he continued bowing and begging for mercy.

"If I don't kill you now, I won't be able to let go of this hatred!" Dustin growled maniacally, stepping forward to stomp on Edward's chest. Edward's eyes widened in resigned fear.

So much for a peaceful death.

"Mr. Rhys! I accept death as my punishment, but please spare my subordinates!"

When Dustin's gaze fell on Travis, they knew their time was up. Without a word, both men took out their knives and slit their own throats simultaneously. No one could negotiate with Dustin at this point.

After watching the two corpses fall, Dustin said nothing. He left immediately, carrying Dahlia in his arms.

Sir Francis sighed, his expression conflicted. Though he'd found Dustin, he wondered if his turbulent heart would ever find peace.

"How should we proceed, Sir Francis?" Hunter asked, head bowed. Before the older man, his status and reputation were as fragile as paper.

"Don't let the news leak. Dispose of everyone involved," Sir Francis replied indifferently. The casualness of his words sent a shiver of fear through Hunter. Did he not realize how many people would suffer?

"P-please don't kill me! I'm friends with Dustin!" Chris yelled, having been hiding. He panicked, running out as he saw the elite forces preparing to burn down the house.

"You're friends with Dustin?" Sir Francis asked, looking him up and down.

"That's right! We're best buds! We even had dinner together!" Chris nodded frantically. He would do anything to survive.

"Is that so? Then ensure he doesn't stay out too late," Sir Francis requested, his tone softening.

"Yes, of course!" Chris assured him.

"Someone drive this gentleman," Sir Francis gestured.

"N-no, no, it's fine I can go myself!" Chris replied, waving his hands frantically. How could he dare get in someone else's car when he was this terrified?

Sir Francis didn't press the matter, waving his hand to dismiss his team.

Chapter 58 (Continued)

"I-I'll be going then" Chris murmured, fleeing as if escaping prison. He thanked God for his quick thinking. However, he knew he couldn't stay in Stonia much longer. He planned to leave once he saved enough money.

"Sir Francis, I believe that man lied," Hunter remarked respectfully.

"It doesn't matter. He's an ant. It doesn't matter if we kill him or let him live," Sir Francis said nonchalantly. He knew Chris was lying, but he didn't dare risk angering Dustin by interfering too much. He certainly didn't want to make an enemy of the Kirin.

Half an hour later, at Peaceful Medical Center, Dustin's heart ached as he gazed at the bloody gash on Dahlia's body. Though divorced, three years of feelings weren't easily erased. Some emotions, it seemed, couldn't be contained.

After a deep breath, he removed her clothes and carefully cauterized the wound. Even unconscious, her body twitched involuntarily at his touch, prompting him to be extra gentle. He was cautious in cleaning, disinfecting, applying ointment, and bandaging.

Once finished, he breathed a sigh of relief, unaware of the sweat on his forehead. Just as he was about to leave, a slender hand grabbed his wrist.

"Don't go don't leave me" In her unconscious state, Dahlia seemed to be having a nightmare. Her eyes rolled as she muttered inaudibly.

Dustin fought to control his emotions. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm right here." He sat beside her, holding her hand.

"D-don't go, Dustin" Her murmurs softened as her sense of security returned, and she calmed down. However, she clung to his hand tightly, refusing to let go.

"I'm sorry" he mumbled, feeling the force of her grip. A twinge of heartache pierced him. She'd never shown him her soft side before, always insisting on being strong and independent. But today, he realized the icy businesswoman was also a woman who needed care.
