Listen to this chapter:

Everyone was stunned when Andrew regained consciousness. The doctors were dumbstruck to see his vital signs were normal. Who could have predicted that a young man like Dustin would cure an unknown disease that had baffled the entire specialist team? It was unheard of!

"That's amazing! Grandfather is awake!" Ruth cried, overjoyed at her grandfather's recovery. Natasha also breathed a sigh of relief.

"Mr. Rhys, I don't know how to thank you," Natasha said. "From now on, you are the Harmon family's honored guest!" She bowed deeply.

"You're welcome, Ms. Harmon. It was no trouble at all," Dustin replied with a small smile. However, his humble words irked Dr. Jansen. He and his team had done everything they could, yet this young man dismissed it as "no trouble at all"? It felt like a blatant insult!

"Hey, you! What's with the centipede? Why was there a centipede in my grandfather's body?" Ruth asked.

"This isn't a normal centipede. It's a venomous curse," Dustin said, turning to Andrew. "Mr. Harmon, where were you recently? Did you eat anything unusual?"

"You're right. A few days ago, I was at a party in Millsburg and drank some wine," Andrew replied.

"You were likely cursed," Dustin concluded.

"Cursed?" Andrew was taken aback. The others stared at each other in surprise. Curses weren't exactly commonplace.

"Don't spout nonsense! This is illogical! Mr. Harmon must have ingested centipede eggs by mistake!" Dr. Jansen interrupted.

"Dr. Jansen, normal centipede eggs would be digested by stomach acid," Dustin retorted calmly. "If you're unfamiliar with this, please don't spread misinformation."

Dr. Jansen fell silent under Natasha's sharp glare.

"Mr. Rhys, thank you for your diagnosis. I will investigate this further," Natasha said seriously. She'd heard of venomous curses, but had no personal experience. She was determined to punish those responsible.

"Now that the curse is lifted, give him this prescription for five days to remove the toxins," Dustin said, scribbling on a piece of paper.

"Thank you so much, Mr. Rhys," Natasha said, taking the prescription.

"I'll excuse myself then," Dustin said, rising to leave.

"Let me see you off," Natasha offered, also standing.

"Sis, what should I do with these insects?" Ruth asked.

"Dr. Jansen wanted them. Let's fulfill his wish," Natasha said coldly. "Everyone, make sure he eats them before he leaves!"

Dr. Jansen paled.

In another hospital room, a similar scene unfolded.

"Mom! Rhys hit me! Make him pay!" James whined from his hospital bed, his head heavily bandaged.

"Don't worry, I'll get even with him for you," Florence comforted him.

"Mrs. Nicholson, it's unthinkable that Dustin assaulted you both!" Chris Nolan, a handsome young man and second son of the Nolan family, declared. He was also infatuated with Dahlia.

"Chris, that punk went mad! No one could stop him!" Florence said through gritted teeth.

"Really? I know some people who can teach him a lesson. Shall I help you, Mrs. Nicholson?" Chris asked, frowning.

"Oh, that would be wonderful!" Florence smiled.

"Make sure they really teach him a lesson! Break a bone or two!" James snarled.

"Certainly. He's as good as dead!" Chris laughed maliciously. Dustin's marriage to Dahlia had long bothered him. How could such a "useless bum" have such a successful and attractive wife? This was the perfect opportunity for revenge.

Dahlia entered, wearing a slinky black dress. Chris's eyes widened.

"Dahlia, you're here! Look at me, I'm terribly hurt!" James exclaimed, pointing to his bandages.

"Dustin apologized," Dahlia said. "Let's forget about it."

"Forget about it? I was beaten black and blue! An apology isn't enough!" James protested.

"Then what do you want?" Dahlia asked.

"I want him to kneel and beg for forgiveness!"

"He's still your brother-in-law. Don't make a fuss."

"We're divorced!" James shouted.

"Regardless, we were family. And you're partly to blame."

"What did I do wrong? I only broke his stupid necklace!"

"What? What necklace?" Dahlia frowned.

"The one you wore. He said it was an heirloom, but it's rubbish!" James muttered.

"Did you destroy that necklace?" Dahlia asked, her voice hardening.

"Yes! He was rude! He wouldn't give me the crystal necklace, so I smashed it!"

"You're asking for a beating!" Dahlia's anger flared. She finally understood why Dustin had reacted so violently. The necklace wasn't just a family heirloom; it was a memento of his mother, a symbol of her love. It was the only thing he kept after their divorce.

"It's just a necklace! Why are you making such a big deal?" James whined.

"That's right! Is that trinket more important than your brother's life?" Florence demanded.

"I'll deal with both of you later!" Dahlia said, leaving. She regretted her harsh words to Dustin; he wouldn't have lost his temper so easily otherwise. She had made a mistake.
