Ah! Su Can let out a bloodcurdling scream.
"I'll give you a minute to think about it," Su Chen said indifferently.
A moment later, Su Chen glanced at the office clock. "Time's up." He swiftly pulled out the dagger; a spray of blood erupted as it plunged into Su Can's other leg. Another agonizing cry followed.
Pei Song's pupils constricted. This man was ruthless.
Another minute passed. Su Chen withdrew the dagger and stabbed Su Can's abdomen. "Young Master Su, are you willing to acknowledge the debt now?" Su Chen's devilish tone resonated.
"Mr. Su, please stop! He'll die!" Pei Song intervened. If Su Can died, the consequences would be catastrophic for both families.
"That's up to Young Master Su. I want to see how tough his bones really are," Su Chen replied, almost casually. He smiled slightly. "Don't worry, I know my limits; he won't die within 250 cuts, at least."
A tremor ran through the onlookers. Two hundred and fifty cuts? Was he joking?
Lying on the floor, blood draining away, Su Can felt his soul nearly leave his body at the thought of 250 cuts.
"Mr. Su, please, give me some face. Let's stop here," Pei Song pleaded, astonished by Su Chen's savagery.
"Face? Do you think you have any?" Su Chen mocked, glancing at Pei Song.
"Consider it a favor to my grandfather," Pei Song pressed, his tone strained.
"Why would I give your grandfather face?"
Pei Song's face darkened. This man's arrogance was breathtaking; he wouldn't even show respect to his grandfather! Was brute force the key to the world? Naive!
Yunlong was speechless, shocked by his brother's unbelievable actions. He seemed to disregard both the Su and Pei families. While concerned about the repercussions, Yunlong felt a surge of excitement. Now this was interesting! His brother's calculated actions only deepened his trust. There had to be a reason.
"Young Master Su, no more thoughts. Acknowledge the debt or die!" Su Chen said calmly. "Even the King of Heaven can't help you now!"
"I acknowledge!" Su Can shuddered, the words forced from him. He'd met a true madman.
"Wouldn't that have been easier sooner?" Su Chen smirked. "Alright, 600 billionโmake the transfer."
"But I only have nearly 50 billion," Su Can stammered. He was a junior member; he couldn't possibly have that much money. Most of it came from the underground boxing ring.
"I'm reasonable. Let's write an IOU for the rest," Su Chen said, touching his chin. "Yunlong, get some paper."
The irony wasn't lost on anyone. Reasonable? He'd used a knife!
Yunlong fetched a sheet of A4 paper.
"Write!" Su Chen placed the paper on the floor.
Su Can hesitated; there was no pen.
"Forget the pen. You've bled enough; it'd be wasteful not to use it. Dip your finger," Su Chen said.
Su Can nearly fainted. Wasteful? He dared not refuse, however, dipping his finger in his blood and writing a five hundred and fifty billion IOU, payable to Su Chen. He then transferred his fifty billion assets to Yunlong.
"All done, handmade!" Su Chen pocketed the IOU, smiling. "Young Master Su, thank you for your generous donation."
Su Can nearly choked. The sarcasm was brutal.
"Let's go," Su Chen said, patting Yunlong's shoulder. They left Su Can's office.
"Su Chen, I'll remember this!" Su Can seethed.
"Su Chen, do you realize the trouble you've caused?" Pei Song asked sternly, once they were outside.
"What trouble?" Su Chen asked, smiling.
"Do you think the Su Family will let this go?"
"So what?" Su Chen shrugged.
"Can you handle their revenge?" Pei Song pressed, genuinely bewildered by Su Chen's actions.
"Let them come," Su Chen replied, unwilling to argue. "We'll take our leave. Thank you for the Pei Family's hospitality."
He and Yunlong drove away.
"Good intentions wasted," Pei Song muttered, driving off himself.
Upon arriving at the Pei mansion, the butler summoned him.
"Uncle Liu?" Pei Song stopped.
"The master wants you in his study immediately," the butler said.
"Grandfather's waiting?" Pei Song was surprised. It was late.
"Yes, and Miss Man is also there."
"Man's there too?" Pei Song realized this was serious.
"Uncle Liu, park the car. I'll go see Grandfather."
He rushed to Lord Pei's study, finding his grandfather playing chess with Pei Man.
"Brother, something big happened at that boxing ring, didn't it?" Pei Man asked immediately.
"How did you know?" Pei Song was startled. Could she predict the future?
Lord Pei and Pei Man exchanged a knowing glance. "Just as we thought!"
