Chapter 200
โFrancis, don't doubt Odalysโ warning on the island. Otherwise, I would have been killed by Lucian.โ Selah sounded worried. She was afraid Francis hadnโt heeded Odalysโs advice. He was antipathetic to leaving.
โI will think about it,โ Francis said, then fell silent. Soon, he became listless.
Wittily, Stellan changed the subject. โFrancis, come on! We just want you to do the dishes tonight. Is that so bad?โ
Instantly, the others understood Stellan was trying to help Francis avoid revealing bad news to the suspects.
โWhatever. Youโll be responsible for washing the dishes tonight,โ Freya declared, spreading her hands.
Selah quickly raised her hand. โIt will be your job to do the dishes tonight.โ
With a knowing smile, Francis compromised. โOkay, fine! Iโll do the dishes tonight.โ
โOdalys, you said I would trip today. Letโs wait and see. I donโt believe that.โ Francis gave the camera a bright smile. โWhat do you think? Letโs bet on it. Iโll stick to a chair for the rest of the day. I donโt think Iโll trip,โ he said confidently.
As he turned, for some unknown reason, his foot slipped. With a loud thud, he fell to the ground. Francis was shocked, and so were the others. Odalys looked sideways at him and asked, โWhy are you on the ground?โ
Hearing the question, the others burst out laughing, shouting in unison, โDishes, dishes, dishes!โ The atmosphere instantly became lively.
โOuch. I did trip. Odalys, did you foresee this?โ Francis muttered as he got back on his feet. The pain came from his arm.
โDo you believe me now?โ Odalys asked with a smirk.
For Francisโs sake, the group was cooperative in this show.
โFine, I believe you. Okay, Iโll do the dishes tonight. By the way, is it time to get ready for dinner?โ Francis rubbed his arm.
โNo, itโs too early for dinner at 3 p.m.,โ Odalys said. โThe groupโs stomachs are still full.โ
โItโs my turn,โ Mellan said.
After Franciaโs fortune-telling, the group felt they should move closer to Odalys regarding the coming secret. Francis went over and suggested Stellan take his place. โGo,โ Francis gestured. Stellan took the hint, walking to where Francis had been standing and offering his hand to Odalys.
Holding Stellanโs wrist, Odalysโฆ
โWell?โ Mellanโs heart was in his throat. Odalysโs silence frightened Stellan. Odalys traced lines on Stellanโs palm with her fingertip.
Chapter 200
What Odalys had said about Francis was quite scary. Nobody liked bad news.
โYou will be fine,โ Odalys said under her breath.
Stellan looked at Odalysโs furrowed brows and asked doubtfully, โAre you sure?โ
โYou will be fine, but your father will be in danger,โ Odalys whispered. It was easy for her to foresee the future of his parents, seeing that Stellan was clearly the apple of his familyโs eye.
โMy father?โ Stellanโs heart sank. He quickly leaned over and asked in a low voice, โWhat will happen to him? Can you tell me?โ
Odalys explained in a low voice, โEveryone has his destiny, with ups and downs. If he can leave this village tomorrowโฆ the shooting will be over tomorrow. When you find a signal for your phone, call him and ask whether he will leave for a business trip tomorrow night. If he says yes, tell him to stay home tomorrow, in a northeast-facing room. Tell him to stay in that room all day, no matter what happens. He will be fine if he does this. However, I donโt think he will.โ
Stellan clenched his fists. His father didnโt believe in fortune-telling at all. He couldnโt dissuade him from the trip unless something more important arose, he thought.
โThank you. Iโll see what I can do,โ he said hoarsely, his heart sinking. Heโd never expected his father to be in danger.
Selah and Freya exchanged a glance. They didnโt ask Odalys to tell their fortunes because she had helped them survive their respective misfortunes. They now had full faith in whatever Odalys said. Fortunately, they had taken her advice; otherwise, Selah would have died, and Freya would have been raped.
โWhy donโt we go pick some peppers for dinner tonight?โ Selah tried to change the subject.
After a soft chuckle, Odalys pointed to the peppers in the sun. โThis morning, I picked them on my way back. Enough for our dinner.โ
โDid you try to dry them in the sunshine?โ Selah asked in surprise, noticing the herbs for the first time. Quietly, Odalys had gotten everything done.
Selah and Freya were moved by Odalysโs kindness, their noses twitching. Every day, she prepared breakfast before her companions got up.
โOdalys,โ Freya wrapped her arms around Odalys, leaning her head against her shoulder. โI wish you to be my family. Iโm serious. Would you like to be my sister-in-law? My older brother is single. Heโs handsome, rich, tall (over six feet), nice, and focused on his career. He doesnโt have any ex-girlfriends or childhood sweethearts. He keeps a low profile and isnโt vain. The only problem is his health, but you have medicine. Therefore, you two are so right for each other!โ She got excited.
Selah shot a squint at Freya. โWhatโs right? I have a distant cousin. I think heโs a better choice for Odalys.โ
The discussion soon became a fight, both Freya and Selah anxious to set Odalys up with a family member.
Chapter 200
Stellan and Francis sat silently.
โDidnโt Odalys mention that sheโs married?โ Stellan calmly said.
This question shocked Selah and Freya, who were unaware of this information. Stellan hadnโt deliberately exposed Odalysโs privacy; she had mentioned her marriage on a show, so he assumed she wouldnโt mind.
โReally? Odalys, are you married? Arenโt you only twenty years old?โ Selah was so sad that tears welled up in her eyes. She was older than Odalys.
โCome on! Canโt one get married at twenty?โ Odalys was amused. She didnโt take her marriage seriously, but she didnโt mind using it to dissuade admirers.
