Chapter 200

“Francis, don't doubt Odalys’ warning on the island. Otherwise, I would have been killed by Lucian.” Selah sounded worried. She was afraid Francis hadn’t heeded Odalys’s advice. He was antipathetic to leaving.

“I will think about it,” Francis said, then fell silent. Soon, he became listless.

Wittily, Stellan changed the subject. “Francis, come on! We just want you to do the dishes tonight. Is that so bad?”

Instantly, the others understood Stellan was trying to help Francis avoid revealing bad news to the suspects.

“Whatever. You’ll be responsible for washing the dishes tonight,” Freya declared, spreading her hands.

Selah quickly raised her hand. “It will be your job to do the dishes tonight.”

With a knowing smile, Francis compromised. “Okay, fine! I’ll do the dishes tonight.”

“Odalys, you said I would trip today. Let’s wait and see. I don’t believe that.” Francis gave the camera a bright smile. “What do you think? Let’s bet on it. I’ll stick to a chair for the rest of the day. I don’t think I’ll trip,” he said confidently.

As he turned, for some unknown reason, his foot slipped. With a loud thud, he fell to the ground. Francis was shocked, and so were the others. Odalys looked sideways at him and asked, “Why are you on the ground?”

Hearing the question, the others burst out laughing, shouting in unison, “Dishes, dishes, dishes!” The atmosphere instantly became lively.

“Ouch. I did trip. Odalys, did you foresee this?” Francis muttered as he got back on his feet. The pain came from his arm.

“Do you believe me now?” Odalys asked with a smirk.

For Francis’s sake, the group was cooperative in this show.

“Fine, I believe you. Okay, I’ll do the dishes tonight. By the way, is it time to get ready for dinner?” Francis rubbed his arm.

“No, it’s too early for dinner at 3 p.m.,” Odalys said. “The group’s stomachs are still full.”

“It’s my turn,” Mellan said.

After Francia’s fortune-telling, the group felt they should move closer to Odalys regarding the coming secret. Francis went over and suggested Stellan take his place. “Go,” Francis gestured. Stellan took the hint, walking to where Francis had been standing and offering his hand to Odalys.

Holding Stellan’s wrist, Odalys…

“Well?” Mellan’s heart was in his throat. Odalys’s silence frightened Stellan. Odalys traced lines on Stellan’s palm with her fingertip.

Chapter 200

What Odalys had said about Francis was quite scary. Nobody liked bad news.

“You will be fine,” Odalys said under her breath.

Stellan looked at Odalys’s furrowed brows and asked doubtfully, “Are you sure?”

“You will be fine, but your father will be in danger,” Odalys whispered. It was easy for her to foresee the future of his parents, seeing that Stellan was clearly the apple of his family’s eye.

“My father?” Stellan’s heart sank. He quickly leaned over and asked in a low voice, “What will happen to him? Can you tell me?”

Odalys explained in a low voice, “Everyone has his destiny, with ups and downs. If he can leave this village tomorrow… the shooting will be over tomorrow. When you find a signal for your phone, call him and ask whether he will leave for a business trip tomorrow night. If he says yes, tell him to stay home tomorrow, in a northeast-facing room. Tell him to stay in that room all day, no matter what happens. He will be fine if he does this. However, I don’t think he will.”

Stellan clenched his fists. His father didn’t believe in fortune-telling at all. He couldn’t dissuade him from the trip unless something more important arose, he thought.

“Thank you. I’ll see what I can do,” he said hoarsely, his heart sinking. He’d never expected his father to be in danger.

Selah and Freya exchanged a glance. They didn’t ask Odalys to tell their fortunes because she had helped them survive their respective misfortunes. They now had full faith in whatever Odalys said. Fortunately, they had taken her advice; otherwise, Selah would have died, and Freya would have been raped.

“Why don’t we go pick some peppers for dinner tonight?” Selah tried to change the subject.

After a soft chuckle, Odalys pointed to the peppers in the sun. “This morning, I picked them on my way back. Enough for our dinner.”

“Did you try to dry them in the sunshine?” Selah asked in surprise, noticing the herbs for the first time. Quietly, Odalys had gotten everything done.

Selah and Freya were moved by Odalys’s kindness, their noses twitching. Every day, she prepared breakfast before her companions got up.

“Odalys,” Freya wrapped her arms around Odalys, leaning her head against her shoulder. “I wish you to be my family. I’m serious. Would you like to be my sister-in-law? My older brother is single. He’s handsome, rich, tall (over six feet), nice, and focused on his career. He doesn’t have any ex-girlfriends or childhood sweethearts. He keeps a low profile and isn’t vain. The only problem is his health, but you have medicine. Therefore, you two are so right for each other!” She got excited.

Selah shot a squint at Freya. “What’s right? I have a distant cousin. I think he’s a better choice for Odalys.”

The discussion soon became a fight, both Freya and Selah anxious to set Odalys up with a family member.

Stellan and Francis sat silently.

“Didn’t Odalys mention that she’s married?” Stellan calmly said.

This question shocked Selah and Freya, who were unaware of this information. Stellan hadn’t deliberately exposed Odalys’s privacy; she had mentioned her marriage on a show, so he assumed she wouldn’t mind.

“Really? Odalys, are you married? Aren’t you only twenty years old?” Selah was so sad that tears welled up in her eyes. She was older than Odalys.

“Come on! Can’t one get married at twenty?” Odalys was amused. She didn’t take her marriage seriously, but she didn’t mind using it to dissuade admirers.
