Chapter 24

With sophisticated misinformation, even a paparazzi could manipulate events. Exclusive scoops, even if not immediately published, could be privately held for later use. Such a lucrative opportunity was naturally not to be missed by media professionals.

Odalys turned to leave. Sophia, fishing for words in front of the camera, gritted her teeth, her heart leaping out of her chest as Odalys stood there. A moment away, Odalys could have ruined her.

"Sophia, you want to sit down?" Max said, quickly stepping forward to steady Sophia as she teetered, nearly falling.

Sophia gripped Atlas's arm tightly, her body leaning against him. Walking away from the camera, she whispered, "Atlas, Odalys is coming after me..."

"Does she want to join me on this show? Will she fabricate fake news to destroy me?" Sophia's voice choked slightly.

Atlas held her protectively, whispering, "Don't worry. I won't let her. Don't forget Henry bought her high-value accident insurance. That was his last move. If she wants to destroy you, we..." Atlas lowered his voice, leaving his sentence unfinished.

He exchanged a glance with Sophia; understanding passed between them without words.

"But..." Sophia hesitated, thinking it unwise to make a scene with so many crew members present.

Atlas patted her hand affectionately. "No, but! You're too kind, always thinking of others. Don't forget, you grew up with us. We're closer to you than to her."

Sophia smiled. "Atlas, thank you."

They quickened their pace to catch up with Finnion, Lancian following closely behind, pondering the intimate scene. The photographer hurried to keep up, and Kenny looked up at the sky, deep in thought.

"It looks like it might rain tonight," he said.

"I wonder if Odalys's words were true. We should also find a more secluded place in case the wind picks up," Kenny added. There were over thirty production crew members. If something went wrong, it would be very troublesome.

Therefore, Kenny immediately instructed several staff members to find a suitable location—preferably a cave near the actors' location, or a wind-sheltered place suitable for camping.

Meanwhile, Odalys rubbed her wrists and looked around.

"In the woods, if you want to eat, you have to hunt, but we don't have any tools," Stellan said, taking an electric baton from his pocket.

"We have daggers, ropes, electric batons, and pepper spray, but hunting is almost impossible," Freya shook her head.

"Would this work on animals?" Selah asked, holding up a pepper spray, confused.

Freya laughed. Imagining animals as perverts was amusing.

"It'll come in handy. Keep it. Now, let's set up some traps. Even if we can't catch anything tonight, they'll be useful later," Odalys said.

The others immediately agreed. Odalys used a dagger to peel branches. Stellan looked for sticks for digging, while Selali and Freya gathered firewood. Their division of labor was efficient, thanks to Stellan's help.

Soon, Selali and Freya collected a large pile of firewood, while Odalys made several small traps. "You guys carry the firewood back to the cave. I'll find some food with Stellan," Odalys added.

Freya looked outside—the sky was darkening. The setting sun cast a red glow, and the forest was eerily quiet, like a prelude to a storm. Freya felt uneasy and told Selali, "We need to gather more firewood quickly. If the wind picks up, we'll need a fire tonight."

"Okay," Selali agreed.

Chapter 21

Meanwhile, Odalys and Stellan headed toward the beach. They arrived at the shore quickly. Odalys stood, deep in thought.

"I doubt we'll catch any fish on this beach," Stellan remarked.

As he looked around, Odalys walked to the water's edge, picking several types of leaves, rubbing them in her palm, and tossing them into the sea.

Stellan was puzzled by her actions but didn't dare to ask.

Soon, a school of fish surged toward them, as if attracted by some delicacy, jostling each other. Stellan held his breath, thinking he might be hallucinating. Even the photographer was startled, quickly moving forward with his camera to zoom in.

Odalys took off her shoes and stepped into the water, grabbing at the fish. With precise movements, she caught two large fish and threw them onto the grass.

Stellan pounced immediately. The fish, frightened, struggled toward the sea. Stellan chased after them, stepping on one fish and reaching for the other, but it slipped away.

"Don't go!" Stellan panicked, hurrying after it.

Odalys quickly grabbed a nearby branch and jabbed it into the water, spearing three fish in one go, nearly breaking the branch. She hastily pulled it back.

"I got one, too!" Stellan shouted excitedly, grinning. He held a small fish and strode quickly toward Odalys, comparing his catch to hers.

"How did you do that? You threw some kind of grass into the water, and the fish just swam right over. How?" Stellan asked, puzzled. If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he wouldn't have believed it.

Odalys carried the fish ashore, put on her shoes, and gestured for Stellan to hold the other two fish. She explained as they walked back, "There's a type of grass by the shore that smells very fishy. I combined it with a few other herbs, crushed them, and threw them into the water. It creates a hallucinogenic effect for the fish, making them think they smell their own kind. That's why they rushed toward us. The water by the shore was shallow, and they were short of breath, struggling to move. It was easier to catch them then, but since the seawater is constantly moving, if you don't act fast enough, the fish would wake up, realize they were tricked, and swim away."

As he listened, Stellan's usually cold face lost its composure. His gaze at Odalys was fervent, his eyes sparkling.

"This is the first time I've heard of this. You know so much about herbs!" Stellan's excitement was immense; his aloof persona vanished. In the past, he was taciturn, speaking only when necessary, and avoided interaction, so he didn't have many friends. Some found him arrogant and unapproachable, but he never bothered to explain himself.

Seeing the scene, his livestream fans erupted in excitement, never expecting the silent, aloof man they worshipped to ask questions like a curious child.
