Chapter 267

Prior to this, Sophia had slept with many men. Henry entered the room, holding a medical file. He threw it onto Sophia with a loud snap, saying, "Deal with the negative online news yourself."

Immediately, the police burst in. Seeing the Bennett family, they announced, "You reported Ms. Bennett kidnapped. We've reviewed her schedule and phone data. It's confirmed she wasn't lured; she contacted Alden, and they met. Your kidnapping report is invalid. This is the case closure notice. Please sign here." The officer handed over the form.

Henry signed it, and the police left. Silence fell. Henry said, without turning, "The Bennett Group will no longer handle your PR." He left.

Sophia lay stunned on the bed, replaying last night. She had contacted Alden to buy the Love Spell. She thought collecting it would be enough to leave, but Alden kept her, made her undress and shower, then raped her.

"How did this happen?" she whispered.

Panicked, she opened WhatsApp to check the new contact, then froze. She'd misdialed. Alden wasn't the intended recipient.

"Ah!" The realization hit her hard. She'd rushed, been careless. She'd contacted the wrong person, failed to get the Love Spell, and been raped. Now, everyone knew Alden had slept with her.

Frustrated, Atlas said, "Mom, I'm going for a walk," and followed Henry out.

Hannah, in her wheelchair, gazed out the window. "Caspian, take me outside," she said.

Caspian readily obliged. In the hallway, Hannah said, "Wait here."

Puzzled, Caspian watched as Hannah wheeled herself to a nearby VIP room. After speaking with the guards, she was admitted.

"Whose room is this?" Caspian asked, surprised to find Edie, Percival's mother, inside. "How does Mom know her?" He'd never heard his mother mention the Stewarts. He was amazed she had such easy access to the room. He stood outside, watching furtively.

Inside, Edie lay in bed, her forehead bandaged. The pain was excruciating. She hadn't expected Evander to attack her at the Stewart Villa last night. Her anger was simmering, intensified by the news of Percival's death.

Seeing Hannah, Edie's face soured. "What are you doing here?" she demanded. The marks on her neck were still visible. The sight of Hannah brought back memories of Odalys, her daughter-in-law, who had thrown her out last night. The humiliation was unbearable.

Hannah said calmly, but mockingly, "I heard you were injured at the Stewart Villa. I never imagined your standing in the family would be so low after all these years."

"Mind your own business!" Edie snapped, regaining her haughty demeanor.

Hannah smiled, "Rumor has it Percival is dead. Do you think Evander will let you inherit the Stewart fortune?"

Edie sputtered, "What do you mean?"

The tension was palpable. Hannah said softly, "Evander's the only Stewart left. He's old, but useful. Whoever bears his child inherits. If you don't want it, let me handle it."

Edie was stunned. "He's over seventy! You're after him? Have you lost your mind?"

Hannah chuckled, "What's so pure about you? You used drugs to sleep with his son and get pregnant with Percival. So what? My husband's overseas. What's wrong with a little fun? If you don't want to, I will." She produced a packet of pills.

With a slap, Hannah slid the pills across the table to Edie. "Here. It's your choice. The Stewart fortune can't fall into outsider hands." She wheeled away.

Edie stared at Hannah's retreating back, then at the pills. Images of Odalys flooded her mind. After a long pause, she called Oliver, "Come to the hospital."
