Chapter 291
After waking up, he remembered nothing. This situation mirrored his daughter's; when she awoke, she had no memory of the events, Odalys stated bluntly. "It's like how you put my talisman under her."
Despite their initial confusion, they finally understood. "Sophia put a love spell on her," Gelede whispered, almost eager to confront the Bennetts.
"Harvey, there are some things I need to tell you directly," Odalys said. She sensed their intelligence; while they used business tactics, they weren't malicious.
"Go ahead," they replied nervously. They felt something was amiss but couldn't pinpoint it.
"You and the Drake family have a good relationship, correct?" Odalys asked.
Harvey nodded, adjusting his gold-framed glasses. "Dangelo and I are good friends; we've done business together."
"A few days ago, after his family's incident, I visited him in the hospital. He credited you with saving his life. Without the talisman you gave them, he likely wouldn't have survived the second explosion. They're very grateful, and they recommended I seek your help with my daughter. Plus, my wife watches your variety show, so I thought I'd try," he explained calmly. "Had it not been for the incident at your shop yesterday—I was there, helping Stellan control the crowd—I wouldn't have this appointment."
If Dangelo hadn't recommended them, Harvey wouldn't have known where to turn.
"The Drake family suffered an unexpected disaster, and Dangelo, during a checkup last month, was diagnosed with cancer," Odalys revealed.
Harvey nodded.
"Right. He suggested we get checked again, but with everything happening with our daughter, we haven't had the chance," Celeste explained. Odalys observed their worried faces. "You've probably heard the Stewart family is in trouble, the Drake family as well, and now yours. Your families are among Crownridge's most prominent."
Harvey was taken aback.
After a brief silence, he exchanged a glance with Celeste and quietly asked, "Is this intentional?"
"You could say that. It's all through Sophia's actions. The Lark family is also in trouble; Finnian was hit by a love spell, almost causing him to attack his own family. Last night, they tried to harm Orson, but were caught," Odalys said.
Celeste staggered, nearly collapsing. "Someone is targeting the top families, after our wealth? My daughter is sharp, excelling in business, music, and painting."
"Star already secured a company project at such a young age, and we planned to groom her as a successor," Celeste continued, her voice filled with pain. This heartbreak stemmed from their daughter's predicament.
"Then it's clear," Odalys said. "Don't trust anyone. Otherwise, the Tillery family will be next. Someone is trying to eliminate you all." She preferred directness. Their wealth and lives heightened the gravity of the situation.
"Align yourselves with the Lark and Stewart families to avoid manipulation. That's just a suggestion; the choice is yours. I can't interfere," Odalys stated. "But keep your distance from Oliver. The Tillery family's energy field is strong; don't let anyone disrupt it. Its destruction means your family's ruin," Odalys added gravely.
Harvey and Celeste were silent. They knew Dangelo and understood the situation somewhat. They had only heard of Odalys' abilities from Dangelo, and now witnessed her power firsthand—controlling their daughter with a touch.
"Ms. Stone, we understand," Harvey said.
Odalys didn't press further, gazing at the sky. "When your daughter wakes up, she'll be normal, but briefly. Tonight, we retrieve the last fragment of her soul," she said.
Overcome with emotion, Celeste grabbed Odalys' hand. "Ms. Stone, please save my daughter," she pleaded, tears streaming down her face.
Odalys chuckled lightly. "It's my duty, acting on behalf of God. After tonight, everything will be fine."
"Can the love spell be broken?" Celeste asked, still worried.
"Once we retrieve her soul, yes. It's a settling talisman, not a binding spell. Finnian's, however, was binding, which is why my earlier solution was temporary," Odalys explained. As soon as an emotional connection and dark thoughts arose, the love spell would rebind them. Last night's silent plot against Orson sealed Finnian's fate.
"What should we prepare?" Celeste asked, feeling lost, images of talismans flooding her mind.
"Nothing. I'll be by later tonight," Odalys said.
Footsteps approached. Their daughter stood there, confused, staring at Odalys. "You're Odalys! I've seen your show! You're amazing!" she exclaimed, rushing to hug Odalys, who didn't resist. "You do star readings? Can you do mine?" she asked eagerly.
Odalys looked at her, a mix of excitement and admiration in her eyes, then at the surprised Harvey and Celeste. This version of their daughter was unfamiliar.
"That guy is your soulmate," Odalys declared.
The girl froze, stunned. A blush spread across her cheeks as she awkwardly glanced at Harvey. "Uh, who?" she asked, shyly, yet her eyes held a longing, hoping for clarification.
"Your current boyfriend. Going public will bring prosperity, but don't overdo it," Odalys advised.
The girl was stunned; she hadn't expected Odalys to know her secret.
