Chapter 343

“Only a troublemaker like you would enjoy stirring things up,” Odalys said coldly. “I don’t have time for your false accusations. I’ve delivered the person to you today. I hope the Bennett family can stay harmonious from now on and avoid using Love Spells to lure men, as you did in the past,” she added pointedly.

Sophia’s face darkened. She recalled giving Finnian a Love Spell on a variety show, and the lingering resentment from his fans.

“Odalys, stop! Come back here!” Sophia shouted angrily, rushing forward. Odalys nonchalantly opened the car door and climbed inside. The door slammed shut, nearly hitting Sophia.

Frustrated and unwilling to back down, Sophia stomped her foot and glared at the car. “Odalys, I won’t let this go!”

Sitting in the passenger seat, Odalys watched the dark, ill-omened aura emanating from Sophia. As Sophia approached, however, the energy seemed to be restrained. Odalys narrowed her eyes, watching intently. At that moment, everything became clear: Odalys and Sophia were opposites. Odalys could suppress Sophia’s negativity, but when Sophia’s negativity became overwhelming, it affected those around her.

The Bennett family, it seemed, had adopted Sophia believing her to be lucky. Although Odalys had been abandoned later, her years spent in the family as a child had left a lasting mark. When Sophia returned, it was Odalys's aura that suppressed Sophia's misfortune, allowing the Bennett family to thrive. That's why they treated Sophia so well. To a wealthy family, profit was paramount.

“I see,” Odalys chuckled softly. The explanation made sense, but she still couldn’t fully understand Sophia’s true intentions. Was Sophia trying to ruin them, or was there a deeper motive? Thinking this, Odalys looked away and said to the bodyguard, “Take me back.”

“Understood,” the bodyguard replied, accelerating. The luxury car sped off, its exhaust fumes hitting Sophia in the face.

Choking, Sophia stumbled back, tears welling in her eyes. She bit her lip, then spun around, seeing Hannah charging at Edie.

“Edie, you bitch! I’m going to kill you! Why did you seduce my son? You knew he was my son! Why did you ruin him?!” Hannah cried, enraged and humiliated. The thought of her best friend taking advantage of her absence to sleep with her favorite son was unbearable.

“Seduced?” Edie countered. “Hannah, perhaps you should ask Henry how much your family benefited when he decided to make a deal with me. All these years, your family has prospered, acquiring countless resources. Do you not know where those connections came from? My family, the Stewart family. The debt your family owes me is immense. Without me, your Bennett family would have collapsed long ago. Where did Sophia’s influence come from? Was it her social connections? No, it was because I forcefully secured them from the Stewart family. Otherwise, why hasn't anyone dared to go after your family all these years?”

“Your Bennett family is nothing! You’ve scraped everything from me!” Edie said sharply, standing firm despite her pain.

Hannah was speechless, stunned by Edie's revelation. She refused to believe the Bennett family's prosperity depended on her. Their business was thriving; many people wanted to collaborate with Henry. Her son was talented; she didn’t believe he would sleep with Edie for resources.

“How is that possible?” Atlas was also stunned. The day had been chaotic: reporters barging into their house, police questioning them. Even after the police station, this revelation struck them.

“Henry, say something,” Atlas urged, rushing to his brother’s side. Seeing Henry holding the blood-soaked box, his eyes bloodshot, he lifted his head.

“Are you done causing trouble?” Henry snapped. “If it weren’t for you, the Bennett family wouldn’t be like this. You tried to frame Odalys, force her into a marriage, and now that she’s married and turned the tables, you’re still here questioning me! If it weren’t for me, would the Bennett family have survived all these years? Dad ran off to expand the business overseas. Has he even contacted us since? When things went wrong, did he come back to help? Now you still think the investments I brought are shameful! Fine, if you think I’m useless, then from now on, whether the Bennett family survives or collapses, I won’t care anymore!” He slammed the box on the floor, blood splashing across the ground.

Everyone was stunned as Henry coldly turned and walked away. After a few steps, he returned, grabbed Edie’s wrist, and led her away. With him gone, the Bennett family’s backbone was lost.

“You! Henry, I’m your mother! How can you do this to me?” Hannah shouted, almost choking on her rage. She didn’t expect Henry to leave. She watched as her son, holding Edie’s hand, left without looking back. She collapsed to the ground in shock.

She grabbed Sophia, pushing her. “Sophia, get your brother back! Don’t let him leave with Edie, or the Bennett family will be ruined!”

Sophia didn’t move. Hannah, distraught, reached for her again. She saw a flicker of mockery in Sophia’s eyes. Sophia turned away, avoiding her touch, then took large strides forward, calling out in a coy voice:

“Dad.”

The single word stunned everyone. They turned to see a man in the distance, dressed in a sharp suit, exuding masculinity. He held a suitcase. It was Harduin Troge, her husband, who had been abroad and hadn’t returned. He rarely contacted her, never answering calls or messages. Yet, he was here.

“Windsor!” Hannah excitedly got up. But before she could reach him, Sophia had already run to him and thrown herself into his arms.

“Dad, I missed you so much,” Sophia said, wrapping her arms around Windsor’s waist and burying her face in his chest.

Windsor held her tightly, letting her cling to him. He gently stroked her hair, speaking in a doting voice. “I missed you too.”
