Chapter 355

Odalys continued her explanation. "The poison will attack your heart and lungs; there's no cure. So, in your case, your body is the target. Any woman would do. If you sleep with them, you'll die."

She added, "But he mentioned the energy involved. The Stewart family's energy field is strong! Their ancestral foundation is excellent, and the mansion has a powerful energy field. No ordinary person could destroy it."

Odalys smiled abruptly. "It's just that the Bennett family doesn't want me as their daughter; they want a scapegoat. But they don't know that once my aura merges with the Stewarts', it will only strengthen their future fortune. My aura counteracts Sophia's misfortune. That's why she became so lucky when I was around; everything went well."

She continued, "It seems the Bennett family has always underestimated me! They think I'm a jinx who will destroy them, while Sophia will bring prosperity. How ridiculous!"

Odalys found the situation increasingly interesting. The Bennetts seemed to believe in energy fields but had been deceived.

"So, Sophia being a 'blessing star' is a lie. The other party deceived Windsor, making him rush to take Sophia's purity to steal her fortune!" Percival asked softly.

Odalys nodded, fingertips against her cheek, her smile deepening. "Yes. But he has another layer of protection. When I tested him, I realized he's probably wearing a charm or something."

She explained, "So, when I left, I made a move on him. As long as he breaks his vows and sleeps with Sophia again, that protection will be destroyed. After tonight's events, he's probably burning with anxiety, wanting to boost his fortune. He'll definitely try to sleep with Sophia again. If he does, he'll be in for bad luck." Odalys felt lighthearted. Nothing was more exciting than watching a scoundrel fall. After all, she wasn't a good person.

"You seem to be in a good mood," Percival chuckled, his voice a low rumble. He found his own mood lifting as he watched her. A subtle smile touched his lips.

"Of course! Imagine Hannah's fury when she discovers her husband and adopted daughter sleeping together! Windsor's finally getting what he deserves!" Odalys exclaimed.

"Her own adopted daughter, raised with love and care, betrayed her with her husband! With the Bennett family in chaos, things are about to get wildly out of control," Odalys said, delighted. She imagined the scene, a thrill running through her.

"This is the perfect time to add fuel to the fire," Percival said. "Have Henry take Edie away! We'll force them into a dead end and then return to"

Odalys perked up. "Tell me how?" she asked eagerly, her eyes shining.

Meeting her eager gaze, Percival chuckled softly. "Wouldn't the Bennett family become even more chaotic by doing so? Hannah's good friend is involved with her son, and her adopted daughter is in bed with her husband."

"That's a double blow! Let the Bennett family fall into chaos! Let them become desperate, using the schemes they planned to use against you against each other," Percival said softly.

Odalys stared intently.

"Percival, I'm warning you! You can play your games with the Bennetts, but don't you dare try that with me. Otherwise, you'll face the consequences," Odalys threatened.

A faint smile played on Percival's lips. "If you're ready, I won't sleep with you," he said in his magnetic voice.

His words struck her like a thunderbolt. Odalys was dumbfounded, staring at him in disbelief. Brandon's words echoed in her ears: The Bennetts wanted Percival dead, which is why they'd made her marry him—to sleep with him. He'd assumed she wanted to seduce him and watch him die. Odalys felt utterly frustrated. She couldn't, and didn't want to, explain herself.

"Get lost," Odalys said coldly, her face flushed. She rested her forehead against the car window, gazing at the night outside. She appeared calm, but her heart raced; she was panicking. She'd always considered Percival a friend, not a man. Partners, only now realizing she was his wife.

Odalys went silent. Then, she snapped, "Percival, don't get any funny ideas."

Percival sat back, thoughtfully watching her in the rearview mirror. After a long moment, he said, "Okay."

"Did you really think about it before?" Odalys sat up instantly. She turned, meeting Percival's eyes. Seeing her reflection in them, she moved her lips, but her throat felt choked.

"No," Percival lied.

Odalys stared, feeling burned by his gaze. The emotions in his eyes almost overwhelmed her. She quickly looked away.

"You better not be. I'm only twenty," Odalys reminded him.

Percival tapped his fingers on the armrest and said nothing.

The bodyguard overheard their conversation, his palms sweating. He was thrilled by their intense flirtation.

"Mr. Stewart, should I raise the partition?" the bodyguard asked.

Percival rubbed his eyebrows. "No need," he said hoarsely.

The bodyguard fell silent, put in his earplugs, and continued driving.

The Maybach stopped in front of the Stewart Villa. They got out and walked back side by side.

"Get some rest," Percival opened the door for her. Odalys walked past him into the room. Hearing him close the door and his footsteps leaving, Odalys breathed a sigh of relief. She collapsed onto the soft bed.

After a while, she went into the bathroom. By the time she returned to bed, it was 2 AM. Despite her stamina, she was exhausted. She closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep. She expected sound sleep, but instead, she dreamed.

"Who?" Odalys struggled.
