Chapter 358

Orson worried when Percival mentioned this. It didn't matter to Finnian, but Orson couldn't allow the Lark family to be affected. The Lark family had been in the medical field for generations and couldn't be ruined by this illegitimate child.

"Let's go check it out," Percival said hoarsely.

Orson immediately sprang up from the sofa, grabbed his car keys, and hurried ahead. After a few steps, he turned back to look upstairs.

"Percival, is Odalys home? Should we call her?" Orson asked softly. He felt a sense of security whenever Odalys was nearby.

"She had something to attend to and went out," Percival replied.

Orson quickly followed Percival, muttering, "It's a pity Odalys isn't here. If she were, she would definitely find a solution."

Percival felt a surge of pride hearing Orson mention Odalys.

On the road, Odalys took a detour. A coldness emanated from her eyes as she focused on the road ahead. Since leaving Stewart Villa, she had seen black mist lingering. This black mist was filled with resentment, and as she drove closer, a rancid odor grew stronger and more pungent. Pedestrians, however, seemed oblivious, hurrying about their business.

"How could there be such ominous energy in Crownridge?" Odalys murmured.

She parked, grabbed her backpack, and walked forward. A security guard stood nearby, hands clasped behind him, surveying the area. Seeing her approach, he was stunned, then greeted her respectfully.

"Are you Odalys Stone?"

"Yes," Odalys replied, slightly surprised. She hadn't expected to be recognized and had forgotten her popularity. She hadn't logged into Twitter since yesterday's livestream and was unaware she'd gained another 50 million followers; her inbox was swamped.

"What brings you here? Is there something supernatural?" the guard asked fearfully. Seeing his frightened look, Odalys smiled. "No. I'm just here to take care of something. Would it be convenient for me to come in?"

"Of course," the guard replied, swiping his access card.

Odalys was surprised by the ease of entry.

"Feel free to walk around inside. If you see anything strange, please help us deal with it," the guard whispered. Odalys almost laughed.

"Okay," she replied softly.

She stepped inside and saw that the entire building was surrounded by black mist. Odalys's expression grew serious as she walked toward the area with the thickest mist. She realized the building was in a blind spot, blocked from all exits by other buildings. Though seemingly well-located, it was a dead end.

She entered the elevator and headed to the top floor.

The bodyguards immediately grew alert upon seeing her. Odalys stepped forward. The bodyguards were stunned.

"Odalys?" they blurted out.

"Yes," Odalys responded.

Relieved, the bodyguards instinctively moved to stand behind her; they had never met her but knew of her skill.

"Is Finnian Lark inside?" Odalys asked, glancing inside.

The bodyguards exchanged surprised glances; she had guessed correctly. Finnian had been brought in earlier that morning. Orson had ordered them not to tell anyone outside the Lark family. Yet Odalys already knew.

"Did you figure it out?" The bodyguards looked at her with admiration.

Odalys smiled but said nothing. She pushed open the door and saw Finnian, radiating a dark aura.

"Interesting," Odalys murmured.

The bodyguards followed, feeling a sudden chill. They instinctively rubbed their arms. "Ms. Stone, is he possessed? It's been freezing in here since he arrived. This place is full of wicked energy. I suggest you leave," one whispered.

The bodyguards immediately turned and fled.

Odalys stood by the bed, her gaze fixed on Finnian. She placed a fingertip on his forehead, then slowly moved it down. The seemingly gentle touch penetrated deep into his flesh.

Finnian groaned, felt a surge of energy, and abruptly opened his eyes. Seeing Odalys and her hand on him, he then noticed her fingertip pressing against his abdomen. He cried out in pain as he saw her fingertip carve a wound, blood oozing out. Fear gripped him.

"You… you! Odalys, you want to kill me?" Finnian cried out in disbelief.

Odalys ignored him. Her fingertip sank further, hooking forward. Finnian struggled, his body feeling restrained.

At that moment, the door was kicked open. Orson and Percival entered, seeing Odalys standing by the bed, her hand against Finnian's abdomen, reaching inside.

"Orson, save me! She… she wants to kill me!" Finnian struggled in fear, death looming. His breathing grew labored.

"Shut up!" Orson's face hardened the moment he heard Finnian speak. He stood behind Odalys, his eyes alight with excitement as he rubbed his hands. The gore barely stained her fingertips as they reached into Finnian's abdomen.

"That incision… his abdomen isn't deeply cut; it looks like it was made by a fingernail. And there's no major bleeding. You're amazing," Orson said, forgetting the man on the bed was his brother.

"Don't talk. You'll distract her," Percival said deeply.

Chapter 358 (continued)

Orson quickly fell silent, his eyes glued to Odalys as she moved her fingertips around Finnian's abdomen. Suddenly, as if she'd hooked something, she reversed her grip and pulled hard.

Finnian screamed in agony. Odalys's fingertips pulled out a yellow talisman; the scriptures were corroded by the gas in his body, the writing blurred.

"This is it," Orson said, striding forward.

But Odalys pressed her hand on Finnian's abdomen, took another talisman from her bag, and pressed it firmly against his belly. Finnian screamed again.
