Chapter 381
Sophia swayed and took a step back. "They're lying and trying to harm someone," someone said nearby. "Looks like Sophia really is a fake."
"Exactly," another person chimed in. "She's always trying to harm others. Is she out of her mind?"
"If Odalys hadn't killed the snake, anyone walking by could have been bitten," someone added.
Sophia clenched her teeth, her hands balled into fists. She shot a venomous glare at Odalys. Looking into Odalys' almost-smirking eyes, Sophia seethed with anger.
"It's impossible! This surveillance must be fake!" Sophia yelled, her voice shaking with fury.
A police officer gave her a warning look. "What are you causing a scene for? Filing a false report will land you in jail!"
"You think the police are here to amuse you? After trying to frame Ms. Stone, now you're trying to flip the situation? Why can't you just be a decent person?" the officer scolded.
Tears of frustration streamed down Sophia's face. She hadn't expected the police to side with Odalys. It felt so unfair. Clearly, Sophia believed she was the one who'd been attacked, the one who'd been wronged.
"Go back and rewind the footage! It's there. They're the ones who hit me. I might have missed something earlier, but the cameras must have caught it," Sophia insisted.
Everyone stared at her as though she were crazy. But Sophia didn't care. She kept insisting they check the footage.
Meanwhile, Blossom turned away, crying into Celeste's arms. Watching Sophia, Blossom regretted everything and felt like she might strangle herself. "Why did I waste so much time on her? Why did I ever like her! She's just so evil," Blossom sobbed, mourning her naive past. She felt foolish and blind, cursing her past self. "Mom, why did I ever like her?" Blossom whimpered.
Celeste gently patted her shoulder. "You were innocent back then; that's why she fooled you. But don't worry, I'll always be here to protect you. You won't make the same mistake again. From now on, just like Odalys, okay?"
Blossom nodded eagerly. "Yes, I'll only like Odalys from now on. I'll never like anyone else. This world is just too scary."
Harvey watched his daughter cry, his heart heavy with emotion. He felt a sharp pang of discomfort.
Sophia, on the other hand, boiled with rage. Once spoiled and adored, she now felt like a rat scurrying across the street. What she wanted was justice. She couldn't stomach the injustice.
"Fine, I'll pull up the footage from earlier," the man said with a hint of annoyance, clearly fed up with Sophia's behavior. He hated how swollen her face was and wished she would disappear. Her crying in front of his door worried him; he feared it would bring bad luck, ruining his family's business. Business owners loathed such situations.
"Okay, play the footage now. Make sure to do it properly. You'd better even stream it live. I want everyone to see they were the ones who hit me!" Sophia shouted, her anger impossible to hide. "My face, the bruises all over me—let that be the proof!"
Chapter 381
Sophia had been assaulted, and now she was being doubted. She couldn't accept it.
"Alright, we'll pull up the footage," Odalys said calmly.
Odalys took out her phone, opened the live-streaming app, and started broadcasting. She had many subscribers eagerly awaiting her live session. The moment she went live, notifications flooded in, and the app quickly filled with thousands of viewers. Within 30 seconds, viewership skyrocketed to a billion.
She held up her phone, scanning the surroundings, and directed the camera toward the television. The man immediately started rewinding the surveillance footage but instinctively glanced at Odalys. Sophia's face was terribly swollen. He instinctively thought these people must have been the ones who did it. But with the police there and so many people watching, he couldn't avoid showing the footage. The police had the authority to access the surveillance, so his agreement didn't matter. It was better to voluntarily pull up the footage than be forced.
As expected, he rewound the footage, and Sophia's figure appeared on the screen. She parked her car, and a figure emerged from the backseat. Sophia's eyes widened.
"No, I don't want you to see this!" Sophia panicked. She tried to rush forward, but two police officers grabbed her arms, holding her back.
Sophia had been so blinded by anger she hadn't realized what she'd done earlier. She only wanted to see the footage of them hitting her so she could have them locked up.
"You've prepared the gasoline, right?" Sophia asked.
Edie's expression darkened. "What do I get if I burn Odalys to death today and destroy her company?"
Sophia continued to manipulate her. "You want the Stewart family's fortune, don't you! If they die, you'll be the heir. You wouldn't want Odalys to take over the Stewart family's assets, right! And besides, you're my mom's best friend and now my brother's wife. We're family."
Edie, once sharp and clever, was now under the influence of a curse worm, clouding her mind and driving her to madness. She'd lost all rationality. "Odalys is a fraud," she said harshly. "Fine, I'll go burn Odalys to death and destroy her damn company. I'll make sure everyone knows that If she really was that good, why didn't she predict that I would set her on fire today? When she's dead, she won't have the chance to show off her skills anymore. No matter how good she is, she won't be able to escape my grip." Her eyes were filled with murderous intent.
"I'll be waiting for the good news," Sophia said, shaking the champagne. "I've got the drink ready. We can open it when you get back." Clearly, she had prepared for this moment.
Edie ignored her and left, walking briskly toward Odalys' company. The scene froze, and everyone stared in shock.
Odalys began, "This morning, Edie showed up with gasoline outside my company, threatening to burn me alive. It seems like you were the one pulling the strings! No wonder you showed up here so suddenly. And now you're trying to report me to the police, twisting things around. If I hadn't been lucky enough to encounter the lightning strike, I probably would have been burned alive too. Sophia, you were adopted by my parents. You stole their love for me for so many years. You and your family forced me to be your slave. I've already cut ties with the Bennett family. I don't compete with you anymore, and I never even thought about it. But why can't you leave me alone? Is it because I can do star readings? Or is it because you're so jealous, you want to destroy me?"
Odalys stepped forward, her voice cold and sharp.

Sophia panicked, retreating step by step until she lost her balance and fell to the ground with a thud.
