Chapter 458

Odalys frowned at the file. “She didn’t even know where his relatives were?”

Lee nodded gravely. “That’s right. After we detained her and Francis’s manager, we went to the address she gave us. The house was empty—a short-term rental booked through an agent. There were no records on them.”

“The key point is that she disappeared after meeting Simpson. They never stayed at the rental; she was clearly deceived.”

“They must have brainwashed her, made her fall head over heels for him. We got some clues through hypnosis, but we’ve hit a dead end,” Lee explained.

“Simpson’s methods are very sophisticated,” Lee continued. “Recently, there have been numerous similar cases: women seducing men to provide organs for their boyfriends.”

This was confidential, but Lee trusted Odalys and hoped she could help. Their investigation alone seemed insufficient.

“Let me see all the materials, especially the women’s files,” Odalys said, her wariness growing.

If Francis’s situation wasn’t accidental, others were likely being tricked and killed in bizarre ways.

“We have the materials, but I’ll need time to organize them. I’ll send them to your phone,” Lee replied, relieved.

Odalys nodded, acknowledging this as a good first step.

“Odalys,” Lee said, approaching her, “do you think this is connected to that suburban villa?”

Odalys’s gaze shifted to the van. “Organ trafficking—a black-market operation. This vehicle removes organs and cremates the bodies immediately.”

She circled the van, inspecting it. Lee remained silent; the others kept their distance, uncertain what to do.

“Send people in four directions—north, south, east, and west—around Crownridge,” Odalys instructed, sketching on a piece of paper. “Let’s see if similar vehicles are parked there.”

Freya peered over her shoulder. “Wait, isn’t that a diagram?”

“What?” The others crowded around.

“Yes,” Freya said. “We’re in the center; the four directions match spots on the diagram.”

Odalys nodded. “Exactly. Lee, have your people check these locations for any vehicles like this one.”

Lee took the diagram, his composure replaced by excitement. He quickly photographed and sent it, calling for backup.

Minutes passed in tense silence. Shaken by the memory of the red-dressed woman, the four stayed close to Odalys, seeking comfort and safety. Lee waited for updates.

About ten minutes later, Lee’s phone buzzed. He answered, then looked at Odalys, wide-eyed.

“Odalys, we found four identical vehicles parked at the locations you specified. They haven’t approached yet, but we confirmed no one is inside.”

Odalys rubbed her hands thoughtfully. “Looks like I was right. After the police sealed the suburban villa, they needed a new location. They’re using these vans, operating under cover of night. And what they’re after… is probably people like Francis.”

“They need organs. And Simpson’s body must be in poor condition, requiring a transplant.”

She paused. “You should investigate recent cases—especially those involving people named Simpson with urgent organ needs or poor health.”

Lee agreed. “That makes sense. I’ll have people investigate immediately.”

Before he left, Odalys stopped him. “Don’t touch the vehicles yet. Install surveillance or tracking devices first.”

Lee nodded and left.

The others processed the information. Selah and Freya moved closer to Odalys, holding her arm.

“It’s alright. Everything’s under control,” Odalys said, smiling reassuringly.

Freya, close to tears, buried her face in Odalys’s shoulder. “Odalys, I was so scared… I thought you weren’t going to make it.”

Odalys chuckled softly. Despite her strength and training, she was human, and the touch was comforting. It felt strange, though, as Freya’s hands seemed to caress her waist excessively.

Odalys’s lips quirked. “Stop taking advantage of me,” she said with a mock scowl.

They walked back to the hotel after Odalys closed the van door. In their room, they found the bodyguards unconscious but unharmed.

“You can go now,” Stellan said, feeling a headache coming on.

Francis remained silent, his unease palpable.

Odalys produced a talisman. “Here,” she said, handing it to him.

Francis froze, staring at it. He took it with trembling hands, gripping it tightly.

“It’s alright now,” Odalys reassured him. “This wasn’t a coincidence. You’ve been under constant watch since your manager was sent away.”

Francis nodded, confirming his fears. He felt a dryness in his throat, unable to articulate his discomfort. Dating had nearly cost him his life, and he remained in danger.

“You can focus on your work,” Odalys said gently. “I’ll paint a protective talisman for you.”

She opened her bag and produced magic dust. The others eagerly held out their hands.
