Chapter 474

Odalys listened carefully, then glanced at Percival.

“Take me to the hospital,” she said.

The most pressing issue was gaining control of the wealthy families' illnesses. Once their conditions stabilized, they would no longer be vulnerable to manipulation. Instead, they would be aligned with Harvey and the others, leaving the behind-the-scenes manipulators—those who had used the energy field to lure them into their schemes—scrambling. Oliver, with his limited skills, could not be the mastermind; he was merely a pawn, a decoy, a puppet.

“Understood,” Percival said, immediately turning the car toward the hospital.

Inside the car, a tense mood hung heavy with uncertainty. The stakes were high; failure to control the situation would have catastrophic consequences.

After a long silence, Percival said softly but firmly, “Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. No matter what happens with their health, remember that you come first. You’re not obligated to save everyone. Each person has their own karma. They were exploited because of their greed and desire for power. If you manage to save them, that’s a sign of your compassion. But if you can’t, that’s not your fault; it’s simply their fate, and it’s not your burden.”

He looked at her with concern and tenderness. She was always so busy, with barely a moment to herself; even her sleep suffered. Yesterday, she worked nonstop, then went to the Film Capital at night, getting no rest until the early morning. Percival worried that if she continued pushing herself, her body would break down. He didn't want her to bear the weight of everything alone.

“I know,” Odalys said, warmed by his words.

She sensed his emotions, but couldn't fully respond yet. Too many fears and painful memories of the past lingered, especially those of her and Percival in the 1920s, when tragedy struck on their wedding night. Even in death, they had been drawn together in the same cycle of rebirth. But this time, she was determined to rewrite their fate; she couldn't allow history to repeat itself. She had to protect Percival's life, and everyone else's. The shadowy figures behind this plot would be exposed; she would ensure it. She wouldn't allow their reign of terror to continue.

“You need to let go sometimes. Give yourself a break, or you might burn out,” Percival continued gently but insistently. “You can’t carry everything on your own. You’re only human.” At twenty, most people were carefree, enjoying life—shopping, dining, living in the moment. But Odalys carried the weight of so many lives, without even the luxury of her own. Percival didn't want her to live like this, but he didn't know how to help. He couldn't force her to slow down; all he could do was respect her decisions, support her, and shield her when necessary. He wouldn't bind her to him, but he wanted her to understand she didn't have to bear this burden alone.

“By the way,” Orion interjected, breaking the silence, “the producer has gone to Magic Entertainment to light candles. Should we tell Evander?”

Orson's tone was casual, but the mention of Evander brought concern back to Odalys's eyes. Evander had been staying at Magic Entertainment more frequently lately, avoiding old friends and dinner invitations. He spent his mornings there, drinking coffee, lighting candles, and greeting visitors. He’d even started donating offered fruit to orphanages and nursing homes, which had improved his health and mood.

“Yes, give him a heads-up,” Odalys said, her voice steady despite her worry. As long as Evander stayed at Magic Entertainment, he would be safe. But if anyone tried to lure him away… that would be a problem.

She quickly sent a voice message to her grandfather: “Grandpa, listen carefully: No matter who contacts you, don’t leave Magic Entertainment. Don’t go to any gatherings or events. Stay put, no matter what.”

But her phone didn't buzz with a reply.

“He’s probably just busy,” Orson said reassuringly.

Percival, however, was less easygoing. He immediately called Callum. “Callum, it’s me, Percival. Unless it’s urgent, take those documents to Magic Entertainment and check on Grandpa. Make sure he doesn’t leave. Not even a step.”

“Got it. I’m on my way,” Callum replied.

Once Percival finished the call, Odalys's nerves settled. She knew Callum would handle things.

Soon, the car arrived at the hospital. They took the VIP elevator to the exclusive floor for high-profile patients.

“Odalys is here to see you,” a nurse announced as Odalys stepped out.

Sienna was waiting, her expression filled with concern. “Odalys, you didn’t sleep well last night, did you?” Sienna asked, gently pulling her toward the ward. “Stellan told me that if you hadn’t rushed over, they would’ve been trapped in the Devil’s Triangle. It could’ve been disastrous.”

At the mention of the Devil’s Triangle, Orson perked up, intrigued.

“It’s fine, I was planning to go anyway,” Odalys replied casually.

They entered the VIP room, where Dangelo and Harvey were reviewing documents. They both stood as Odalys entered.

“Odalys, you’ve arrived,” Dangelo said, his face lighting up. Since Sienna had expressed a desire to make Odalys her goddaughter, Dangelo had developed a special fondness for her. He looked at her with pride and affection. “I’m glad to see you. Let me check your pulse.”

Odalys nodded and offered her hand. Percival, Orson, and Harvey stepped aside to discuss business. Sienna, flustered, rushed to make coffee for Odalys, washed some fruit, and ordered pastries.

“Odalys, you should eat something,” Sienna said, bringing a tray.

She looked at Odalys with adoration, almost as if she wanted to call her daughter, but hesitated.

“Thank you,” Odalys said, accepting the coffee. The taste was familiar—her favorite. She hadn't mentioned it to anyone.

“I saw you make coffee like this last time,” Sienna said shyly. “So I asked around and got some fresh flowers to dry and brew it for you. Do you like it?”
