Chapter 506

As Freya clung to Odalys, she sneaked a glance at Percival. Seeing the coldness in his eyes, she instinctively tightened her arms around Odalys.

"You're squeezing too tight," Odalys remarked, gently prying Freya's arms away.

Freya gasped dramatically, covering her mouth in panic. "Did I hurt you?" she asked, her voice filled with exaggerated worry.

Odalys was speechless.

Watching Freya's over-the-top performance, Odalys tilted her head slightly and glanced at Percival. He strode forward with a grim expression, grabbed Freya's wrist, and pulled her aside.

Blocking her path to Odalys, Percival warned coldly, "Keep your hands off her."

"What? But she's my sister-in-law!" Freya exclaimed.

At that moment, Selah ran out of the trailer, stopping in her tracks with a look of astonishment. She couldn't believe Freya dared to provoke Percival. However, it was clear that Percival was jealous; his possessiveness over Odalys was extreme.

Selah quickly approached Freya and pulled her aside. "Aren't you afraid you're pushing too hard?" she asked.

"If I don't push hard, how will I get it? A man with no experience in love is hard to teach," Freya replied, rubbing her wrist.

Despite her brave words, she was nervous. When she had met Percival's intense gaze earlier, she had felt an overwhelming sense of dread.

"By the way, it seems you really mean to beat the hell out of Edie," Selah commented, gesturing toward the front, where Edie was painfully struggling to her feet, looking utterly disheveled.

Oddly enough, the area was completely deserted, not even a single extra in sight. It felt as though the entire place had been deliberately cleared out. In the distance, a few men in black suits stood silently, their presence looming.

"Flirting with Odalys was just for show, but I genuinely beat Edie," Freya admitted. "I've been annoyed with her for years. I finally got the chance to teach her a lesson. Honestly, I feel so much better now."

"Sometimes, when someone acts recklessly, they can feel a bit intimidated by their boldness. But the satisfaction is undeniable," Selah added.

"Percival, are you just going to stand there and let Freya hit me? I'm your mother! Do you even realize how people will mock your family for being so uncultured?" Edie yelled as she approached, still in pain. She adjusted her shawl, which thankfully wasn't damaged, though it carried a faint odor. Her face still stung, the fiery pain making her wince. Once pampered and cherished, Edie's life had fallen apart after being cast out of the Stewart family. No one flattered her anymore; her allowance had shrunk, and even the Bennett family treated her like an afterthought. After her recent miscarriage and hospital stay, not a single person stood up for her.

"So what if I let her hit you?" Percival retorted.

Edie was stunned, staring at him in disbelief. She stood motionless as a chill ran through her. The cold wind seemed to seep into her bones, making her shiver. Her mind swirled with memories. Even when Percival had been indifferent toward her in the past, he had at least been respectful. But things had changed drastically.

"How can you say that? You're my son! You're just going to stand by and let others bully me? What will people think of you!" Edie shouted, on the verge of losing control, her eyes filled with resentment and unwillingness to accept her fate. The cold wind felt like an icy hand, clawing at her neck.

"You married Henry, didn't you? Your husband's last name is Bennett. My father's last name is Stewart. What does that make you to me?" Percival asked with a laugh, his eyes filled with icy disdain.

Chapter 306

Edie stood frozen, her heart sinking into despair. Everything was spiraling out of control. She had thought that leaving the Stewart family would at least give her leverage within the Bennett family. However, Henry had become increasingly unmanageable in recent days. The Bennett family itself was in chaos, leaving her with no foothold. Every plan she had was unraveling.

"Okay, you want a clean break? Fine, but you'll need to provide financial support. I'm asking for $300,000 a month, which comes out to $4 million a year, for 30 years," Edie demanded.

Hearing her ask for money again, the coldness in Percival's eyes deepened. Previously, she had demanded $13 billion, along with shares in the Stewart Group. Now, she had lowered her stance to $100 million.

"If the Simpson family wants money, tell Quinton to come himself," Percival replied in a low voice.

Odalys stood quietly, observing Edie's reaction. When she heard the name "Quinton," her expression became complicated, as if she didn't want to.

"Is your brother embarrassing you? Or is he not even human?" Odalys asked, stepping closer. She leaned in and whispered by Edie's ear, her voice as light as a breeze.

Edie felt a tingling numbness at her feet and instinctively took two steps back.

"What nonsense are you spouting? Odalys, don't think that just because you can predict things you can act like some mystical fraud. Your tricks don't work on me," she said with agitation, turning to leave.

But Odalys grabbed her wrist, pressing her fingertips lightly against Edie's pulse before quickly letting go.

"You've been taking a lot of medication. It seems like you're having trouble sleeping at night," Odalys commented.

Ignoring her, Edie tried to leave, but Odalys continued calmly. "Being drained of blood doesn't feel good, does it?" Edie's scalp tingled. She turned her head, meeting Odalys's amused gaze, and panic began to set in.

"How does it feel to have your period for 30 days straight in a month? Pretty miserable, isn't it?" Odalys asked with a slight smile.

Edie's face turned pale. She didn't move but instead stared at Odalys with wide eyes.

"You've been arguing with Henry recently, haven't you? Rumor has it you're separated. Are you afraid he'll notice something's off about you?" Odalys pressed on.

Each of her words struck a nerve deep in Edie's heart. No one else knew about this. Only she did. Edie thought, How could Odalys possibly know? Did she smell something? Had she been stalking me? Or was it something else that gave me away?

"Is this why you approached Freya?" Odalys asked. "You wanted to use her as a scapegoat. You even tried to have Rafael ambush her at Film Capital last time. Too bad for you, he had an accident that same night and died. Ever since, you've been restless, haven't you?" Odalys smiled. "The way he died was so gruesome. He must be visiting you every night, right?"

Edie contorted with anger as she backed away, pointing at Odalys in disbelief. "Stop it! I told you to stop talking, Odalys! It's all nonsense!" Edie screamed, completely losing her composure. Odalys smiled instead of getting angry.

A falling leaf drifted by, and without even looking, she caught it between her fingers. She began to play with the leaf, her expression calm and composed.

"Time is plenty. How could I not know? I also know that experiencing your 30-day period condition could be related to a Love Spell," she said calmly. She paused for a moment, then added with a hint of amusement, "Oh, you don't know where the Love Spell is, do you?" Odalys dangled the bait.

Edie heard the words "Love Spell."

This cleaned up the grammar, punctuation, and formatting significantly. I also standardized the use of dollar signs ($) for currency. A few minor ambiguities remain (e.g., the precise meaning of some actions), but the core text is much clearer.
