Chapter 542

“She used it on Atlas before, so overuse of Love Spells will cause a backlash. Since she couldn't control Atlas this time, even Atlas's heart's blood won't be as effective next time,” Odalys said. It was like going to extremes; some things only work once. Overuse diminishes their effectiveness.

“I want to expose her true colors,” Orson said, a little worked up. He was young, after all, and sought excitement. Things about Sophia were exciting enough.

Odalys smiled but said nothing. “I need to head to the office; I can’t chat longer,” she said.

Orson raised his hand hurriedly. “Odalys, I’ll go with you. I want to go and pray.”

“Aha!” Odalys laughed heartily. Seeing his eager expression, she couldn't help it.

Percival watched her cheerful demeanor and smiled, infected by her laughter. He felt much more relaxed, sensing a different kind of joy around her.

“I’ll take you there,” Percival said.

Odalys didn’t refuse. She checked on Callum; his hand was a bloody mess. “Don’t put any medicine on his hand,” she said.

Orson, about to apply medicine, stopped. “Okay,” he said, not questioning her. It seemed any decision she made was right, and he obeyed. After witnessing her medical skills, the Lark family almost always listened to her, never questioning her, even if they had doubts.

Other Lark family members, unfamiliar with Odalys, were curious and admired her—like an idol had suddenly appeared. They hadn't met her, yet found her captivating. Sometimes, when a Lark family member needed major surgery, they went to Magic Entertainment before the hospital.

Percival drove Odalys to Magic Entertainment, then received a call and left in a hurry. Odalys watched him drive away, frowning until his car disappeared.

“Odalys, what’s wrong?” Orson asked, about to enter the company energetically. Noticing her unusual demeanor, he stopped.

“Nothing,” Odalys murmured. As Percival drove away, she vaguely saw a wisp of wicked energy trailing behind him, but it vanished when she tried to get a clearer look. She wasn't sure if she'd seen it correctly.

“I’ll go in and pray first. I have to go to the hospital afterward,” Orson said. He prayed, then left in a hurry.

Odalys remained outside. Many fans came to pray. Seeing her, they quietly bypassed her. After praying, they quietly approached.

A girl called softly, afraid to startle her. Odalys turned, confused, to see a girl in a white dress, exquisitely made up, standing timidly and staring nervously.

“What’s wrong?” Odalys asked softly.

The girl nervously produced a photo. “Can you sign this? I like you very much. I’m a loyal fan.”

Odalys saw it was a picture of herself fighting a wild boar on a variety show. She chuckled. She hadn't expected fans would print it for an autograph.

“Is it okay?” the fan asked worriedly.

“Sure,” Odalys said, taking the pen. The fan watched, her eyes sparkling. Other fans watched, not daring to disturb them. They seemed to have an unspoken agreement—no screaming or crowding. They'd approach if needed, otherwise, they watched from afar. Unlike other artists' fans, hers were quiet and well-behaved.

“Thank you,” the girl said, turning to leave. Odalys called out, “Wait!”

The girl turned, clutching the photo nervously. Odalys stepped forward, touched her forehead. The girl broke into a cold sweat, her lips moving, but she didn't speak.

“Don’t go back to your hometown,” Odalys said.

Confusion flashed in the girl's eyes. “Someone will ask you to go back; don't,” Odalys warned.

“I’m not planning to. I’m going to Husatin tomorrow; I have an appointment with a classmate,” the girl said, forcing a smile.

Odalys fell silent. Some things could only be hinted at. “No matter where you go or who you meet, don't return to your hometown,” Odalys’s voice sank.

The girl nodded quickly. “Don’t worry, Odalys, I will listen to you.”

Odalys watched her leave, her heart tightening.

She saw the girl’s life counting down. She knew the outcome but couldn't change it. Even if she told the girl not to go there, she probably still would. If the girl listened, she might survive. If not, she'd end up like the woman Odalys had connected with before, who, for money, didn't save her son.

This saddened Odalys. “Odalys,” several fans called.

Odalys greeted them with a relaxed smile. Some wanted their fortunes told; she patiently obliged. They excitedly bid farewell.

Odalys watched them leave, their laughter echoing. “Odalys,” a voice interrupted her. She turned to see Hannah and Sophia, looking like a loving mother and daughter, which surprised Odalys.
