Chapter 598

Odalys

It was indeed a tiring day. "Let's go back," Percival said. Orson nodded and drove them back. By the time they returned to the Stewart Villa, it was 3:30 AM. Odalys, having had some wine earlier, went straight to her room to sleep.

Despite the events of the day, she fell asleep instantly. That night, she dreamt she was lying in the snow, her body freezing and turning purple. She screamed for help, but a pair of hands tightened around her neck, trying to press her face into the snow. She fought back desperately, her hands flailing until she grabbed the person's face. With a hiss, she ripped it off, awakening with a scream, trembling at the sight of the bloodied face in her hands—only to find her hands empty.

She sat up, leaned against the headboard, and stared into the now-bright sunlight pouring through the window. Pulling back the blanket, she walked to the floor-to-ceiling window. Looking down at the courtyard, she saw Evander and Dorian watering the flowers.

"Mr. Stewart, this spot hasn't been watered yet," Dorian said, gesturing. Evander, adjusting the hose, accidentally kicked it, spraying water in Dorian's face. "Mr. Stewart, don't water my face!" Dorian cried, running away. Evander tripped, falling and soaking himself.

"Grandpa!" Odalys called from the window, jumping down from the balcony. Brandon, seeing this, quickly redirected the spraying hose. "Grandpa, are you alright?" Odalys asked, helping him up.

Evander was soaked and muddy. Dorian checked him for injuries. "Mr. Stewart, you're soaked," he said. "You are too," Evander retorted gruffly, and the two chuckled.

"Both of you, go change your clothes. We wouldn't want you to catch a cold," Odalys said, concerned. The weather was growing chilly, and their health was not the best. "How about you? I heard you drank a lot last night. Are you feeling unwell?" Evander asked.

Odalys shook her head, continuing to water the flowers. "No need. I feel fine after throwing up last night. You guys should go change," she said. Evander, with Dorian's assistance, went inside.

Odalys admired the vibrant winter flowers in the courtyard, their colors sparkling with the morning light and water droplets.

"Mrs. Stewart, let me do the watering. Don't get your clothes dirty," a startled servant said, taking the hose. "It's play! I'm having fun," Odalys replied. The servant insisted she wash her hands and have breakfast. Odalys obliged, washing her hands with the hose, then strolled through the backyard, enjoying the birdsong.

She greeted passing servants and bodyguards before seeing Callum in the pavilion, his right hand bandaged, using his left to work on his phone and computer. Odalys was astonished by his one-handed typing speed, remembering Percival's comment about their ambidexterity. She realized the people around Percival were extraordinary.

"Who is it?" Callum, feeling her approach, reached for his gun, then quickly lowered it upon seeing Odalys. "I'm here to check on your hand," she said.

He extended his hand, and Odalys examined the injury, noting its good progress thanks to Orson's medicine. She re-bandaged it.

"I don't remember anything from that day, but I think I saw Edie," Callum said. "It doesn't make sense. I shouldn't have been tracking her. But I can't remember what crucial information I had that made me do so. Could you use hypnosis to help me unlock those memories?"
