Chapter 604

“Why are we talking about Lee?” Selah asked, raising her hand.

“Odalys is very close to Lee, and we have a strong relationship with Odalys. If something happens and we call the police, Lee should be there,” Freya interjected. “Many criminals fear Lee; haven’t you noticed how many people have been targeting Francis recently?”

Selah’s eyes widened in sudden understanding. “Is the listening device also aimed at Francis? What should we do?” she whispered, nervously.

Stellan took a sip of his coffee. A tense silence filled the dressing room.

“Let’s finish filming first and discuss this again at noon,” Freya said.

Their teamwork was excellent. They said nothing more about it.

After changing clothes, the four left the dressing room. As they were leaving, Freya paused, seeming to remember something. “You guys go ahead. I need to get something,” she said.

“Okay,” they replied, continuing on.

Freya returned to the dressing room, looked around, then went to a corner, activated the video recording on her phone, placed it there, and quickly caught up with the others. Holding the script, she called out, “Selah, let’s go over the lines.”

“Sure,” Selah replied.

They reviewed their lines as they walked toward the studio. After filming three scenes, it was already 11:00 AM. They returned to the dressing room with their lunch boxes. After changing, Freya went to a corner, turned off her phone, and pocketed it.

“Let’s go. Let’s go back to the room and eat,” she said, gesturing for them to follow.

Stellan noticed her unusual expression. He quickly stood and followed her, with Francis and Selah close behind. Back in the room, Freya quickly shut the door.

“What’s wrong?” Selah asked anxiously.

Freya produced her phone, her expression strange. She whispered, “I left my phone recording in the dressing room. When I went back, I saw a notification—seven red dots. That means someone entered the dressing room seven times after I left.” She clicked on the recording.

This phone, a gift from Percival with software installed by Callum, was far more advanced than an ordinary phone. It provided notifications as soon as recording began, could detect the number of people passing by, and captured footage of anyone entering, without needing playback.

She opened her phone and saw seven short videos in a folder. “Seven times,” she said coldly. “I want to see who it is.”

Freya abandoned her lunch and quickly clicked on a video. The image was blurry, as if the lens had been covered. It was unidentifiable.

After watching, the group was puzzled. “Why can’t we see anyone? It’s not a ghost, is it?” Selah whispered, frightened.

Chapter 601

She leaned toward Freya, nervously scanning her surroundings. “How come there’s no one in the footage!?”

“Look at mine,” Stellan said, producing his phone and playing a video.

“You also recorded?” Selah gasped. To her surprise, both Freya and Stellan had left their phones recording in the dressing room.

“I was just as curious as she is about who entered our dressing room. It's fine if it's paparazzi, but what if it's someone else?” Stellan explained.

His video was identical to Freya's; after flickering a few times, it became blurry and unidentifiable.

“Let’s eat first. Let Francis nap afterward,” Freya said, a hint of panic in her voice. It would be a lie to say she wasn't afraid.

Freya quickly ate a few bites of her lunch, then discarded it, lacking appetite. The others reacted similarly.

After eating and washing their hands, they retrieved the talismans Odalys had given them and placed them in Francis's bedroom before quickly leaving.

“I’m going for a walk.” “I’ll get a smoothie.” “Oh! Where’s my script?”

The three created excuses to leave, leaving Francis alone. The sun shone into his room, but instead of warmth, a chilling coldness permeated the air. It was noon, yet he felt a deep chill.

He placed a talisman under his pillow and lay staring at the ceiling, lost in thought, when he vaguely heard footsteps outside his door. A faint “tap, tap, tap” echoed on the floor.

“Who is it?” Francis whispered.

There was no answer. The sound stopped, his nerves taut. Just as he was about to speak again, the door burst open, and a gust of icy wind rushed in.

“Ugh,” Francis groaned. An unseen force pinned him, immobilizing him. He struggled, feeling a shadow pressing down, the biting cold intensifying, causing him to shiver uncontrollably.

“Who are you?” he asked.

As he spoke, the cold intensified around his neck, as if something sharp were about to pierce him. His eyes widened, vaguely seeing a shadow, yet unable to discern its form. A sharp pain pierced his skin.

At that instant, the talismans Freya and the others had placed emitted a bright light. Bang! The doors and windows slammed shut. The talismans transformed into golden light, intertwining in the air and striking toward Francis.

The blurry figure, sensing the attack, tried to retreat and dodge, but was struck by the talisman under Francis's pillow.

“Ah!” The figure cried out in pain.

Several golden lights formed a strange rune in mid-air, pressing down.

Francis scrambled up, blood dripping from his neck. He quickly grabbed a tissue to stem the bleeding.

“Who are you?” he demanded coldly.

The figure, sensing danger, tried to escape through the window. But another figure was faster. As the window opened, a kick from outside sent the figure sprawling to the ground.

A spurt of blood erupted. As the blood flowed, the blurry form receded, revealing its true form.

“Odalys!” Francis exclaimed, his panic subsiding at the sight of her.
