Chapter 82
Lily shielded her face and said, "Elaine, I didn't mean to hurt you. Clement and I genuinely love each other. I never intended to break up your family. I've seen how happy you all are, and Clement is such a wonderful man. I just wanted to be a part of your family. Elaine, I won't make Clement divorce you, and I won't take him away from you."
Lily's explanation only fueled Elaine and Madelyn's anger, causing them to hit her even harder. Nearby onlookers were unable to intervene, only gossiping and criticizing Lily for being ungrateful and disloyal. Only Pauline remained relatively calm, trying to persuade them. "Elaine, Madelyn, whatever the issue is, let's settle this after the banquet. Tonight is the Sabella Group's anniversary celebration."
However, Elaine and Madelyn were too furious to listen. They continued to attack Lily relentlessly.
The commotion caught the attention of all the guests. Even the journalists, initially covering the event, abandoned their reporting to film the fight. Pauline, realizing she couldn't defuse the situation, sent Estelle to inform Clement and Henry.
When Henry learned his mother and sister were fighting Lily, he rushed to intervene. With a stern expression, he raised his voice. "Can't we settle this after the banquet? Must you ruin tonight's event?" They had been cautious, fearing Naomi would cause a scene, but it was Elaine and Madelyn who created the disturbance.
Madelyn, tears in her eyes, looked at Henry. "Henry, this bitch seduced Dad. She and Dad even have a pair of twins together."
Henry's face darkened. He felt a surge of anger but suppressed it. He coldly replied, "Let's settle this later."
Clement's arrival ended the commotion. Henry's gaze fell on Naomi, leaning against a pillar, watching with a satisfied smile. He knew she had orchestrated this.
The disturbance ruined the Sabella family's celebration, and the scandal quickly spread across various media platforms, making it impossible for Henry to contain the information. What was supposed to be a joyful evening had become a night of embarrassment for the Sabella family.
Naomi hummed as she walked downstairs with her parents and Bailey. Her mood was exceptionally good.
Seeing her demeanor, Christine said sternly, "I knew it. You were definitely up to something mischievous. Look what you've done to the Sabella family tonight!" No wonder Naomi had insisted Christine attend the banquet, saying there would be a surprise.
Naomi responded, "Mom, this has nothing to do with me. I didn't make Clement seek other women, nor did I ask Elaine and Madelyn to resort to violence. I simply adhered to the principles of fairness and justice as a lawyer, allowing the facts to be presented to everyone."
Christine sighed. "No matter how you put it, you have a point. I can't argue with you."
Bailey chimed in, "Mrs. Goodwin, tonight, Naomi did nothing wrong. They were the ones who provoked her first. If we have to blame someone, it should be Elaine and Madelyn for losing their tempers."
Naomi was well aware of Madelyn's and Elaine's personalities. She didn't need to do much to make the Sabella family look bad; they could handle that on their own. Christine realized that was indeed the case. Naomi had provided the evidence; how the situation unfolded was entirely up to them.
As they reached the parking lot, Naomi's phone rang. She checked the caller ID. Her expression immediately worsened.
