Chapter 94

Brendan disagreed, saying, "Henry can only compete with you."

"Is that so?" Naomi raised an eyebrow. "I have an appointment with a client. Can you drop me off at the law firm?"

Brendan immediately drove her there.

That evening, leaving work, Naomi saw Henry's blue sports car parked outside. She slowed, then stopped.

Henry rolled down the window, a gentle smile on his lips. "You really know how to balance your ideal life."

"Barely," Naomi replied.

"Get in, I'll give you a ride," Henry offered.

Naomi hesitated. "I'm afraid your car will flip over with me inside." She'd recently played a prank on him and wasn't sure of his reaction.

Naomi didn't get in, so Henry exited the car. He strolled toward her, a sly smile playing on his lips. "Are you afraid?"

Hands in the pockets of her black wide-leg pants, Naomi glanced at his car, then at him. "Take my word for it—get a better car next time."

Henry looked at his car, then back at Naomi. "Isn't it better than your little Audi, worth only tens of thousands?"

"I don't care what car you drive. I only ride limited-edition ones when it comes to men." She playfully alluded to their previous failed attempt to win her limited-edition car.

Henry remained calm, smiling gently. "Let's talk about the Sabella Group's legal representation."

Naomi laughed. "Henry, are you trying to challenge me? Still interested in the South Glistenville project?"

With the Sabella Group's removal as representative, its stock price was likely to plummet. To salvage it, participation in the South District project, even nominally, would be best. Therefore, Henry had sought her out, hoping to leverage legal representation as a favor.

Thinking this, Naomi laughed again. "Henry, do you think I'm so easily manipulated? Why should I help the Sabella Group?" She'd had previous dealings with the Jenkins family and wouldn't let them off easily.

Naomi wasn't easily swayed. Henry stepped closer, whispering in her ear, "Naomi, having one more friend is better than having one more enemy."

"Don't try to brainwash me," Naomi retorted. "I'm not foolish enough to invite a wolf into my house."

If the Goodwin family faced difficulties, Henry would be the first to exploit them, particularly because of their family history and his rivalry with Brendan, her husband.

Henry's eyes turned cold. "You won't yield at all?"

Naomi raised her gaze, smirking as she adjusted his collar. "What if I don't?" Leniency toward the Sabella family would endanger her own. She was neither lacking in foresight nor overly compassionate.

"Naomi, I'm becoming more and more interested in you."

Naomi chuckled. "Is that so? But you're still far behind Brendan." She wanted to divert some of Henry's attention toward Brendan. This caused Henry's expression to change abruptly.

The atmosphere grew tense. Suddenly, car horns blared nearby. Both instinctively turned to look.
