Chapter 1016:

โ€œMind your damn business!โ€ Fiona snapped, her frustration boiling over. She wasnโ€™t sure what had gone wrong with Kaelynโ€™s plan, but her anger found an easy target in Quinn. She shoved past him again, not even bothering to look back as she stormed out of the backstage area.

Darren, standing nearby, raised an eyebrow. โ€œWhatโ€™s with your girlfriend? You didnโ€™t do anything, and sheโ€™s blowing up at you. You okay?โ€

Quinn shook his head, forcing a smile. โ€œYeah, Iโ€™m fine. Donโ€™t worry about it.โ€

Edward wandered over, adding, โ€œJust donโ€™t let this drama mess up our performance, okay?โ€

Quinn exhaled, his shoulders relaxing slightly. โ€œI wonโ€™t. Iโ€™m all in. Letโ€™s give them a good show.โ€

After Elyseโ€™s solo, Edward and the others joined her onstage for the grand ensemble. During a brief pause while the orchestra shuffled, Quinn sidled up to Elyse and muttered, โ€œSheโ€™s too shocked.โ€

Elyse glanced at him, slightly surprised. โ€œAre you alright?โ€

Quinn sighed quietly, lowering his eyes. โ€œYeah, Iโ€™ve come to terms with some things. Now I just want to focus on getting through the tour and doing it right.โ€

Elyse felt a twinge of sympathy for him. In this world, some people get hurt after giving their heart away. But that was beyond her control.

Sighing quietly, she offered, โ€œThings will work themselves out soon. Donโ€™t worry.โ€

By now, Quinn was too exhausted to care about the outcome. Being with the wrong person had turned the whole journey into one big mistake.

Once the orchestra was ready, the grand ensemble performance began. The five violinists lit up the stage like rising stars, captivating the audience with their brilliance. Before long, the first concert of the tour ended.

Backstage, Elyse returned to the dressing room to change. She had barely finished when Fiona flung open the door. Ignoring the indignant protests of others, Fiona stormed in, her eyes locked on Elyse. In a voice as cold as ice, she commanded, โ€œCome outside. We need to talk.โ€

Elyse barely glanced at her, responding with calm indifference, โ€œI still need to remove my makeup. Youโ€™ll have to wait.โ€

Fionaโ€™s impatience bubbled over, but Elyse, unfazed, shut her down with a sharp retort. โ€œWhy should I rush just to suit you? Do I need to remind you of where we stand?โ€

Fionaโ€™s face darkened. She slammed the door shut and stormed off, her frustration boiling over.
