Chapter 1095:

Jaydenโ€™s face hardened. โ€œIโ€™m aware,โ€ he responded with ire, โ€œbut what angers me more is your silence. Did you really think you could handle such a drug alone? Even I would struggle, so how could you?โ€

Feeling deeply aggrieved, Elyse retorted, โ€œBut weโ€™re divorced. Is this how an ex-husband behaves? I donโ€™t consent to this!โ€ Jaydenโ€™s fury reignited. Through clenched teeth, he hissed, โ€œWhat does our divorce matter? I still want to be with you. Not just that, I want you to bear my children. One child isnโ€™t enough; I insist on two!โ€

Elyse shuddered. Her body quaked as she responded, โ€œYou didnโ€™t use protection!โ€

Jayden shot back, โ€œAt that moment, how could I? You should feel lucky I was even there.โ€ He added spitefully, โ€œSince the rules are already disregarded, letโ€™s continue this daily. Weโ€™ll have a child sooner rather than later.โ€

Elyseโ€™s fury surged at his audacious remarks. Her face flushed with embarrassment and anger as she sharply exclaimed, โ€œIn your dreams!โ€ Propping herself against the wall, she stood. โ€œIโ€™m heading for a shower. I refuse to carry your child!โ€

Jayden, deciphering her determination, smirked slightly. โ€œItโ€™s fine. Iโ€™m confident everything will work out. A shower wonโ€™t change our destiny.โ€ Elyse, seething with rage, couldnโ€™t reply.

As she turned to leave, Jayden remembered the morbid scene awaiting her and cautioned, โ€œYouโ€™d better steer clear of that room; thereโ€™s a dead body inside.โ€ Her expression darkened.

โ€œIโ€™ll avoid that room,โ€ she stated firmly. โ€œIโ€™ll find another for my shower, but first, I need to collect my belongings from there.โ€

Jayden nodded. โ€œThe small suitcase, correct? Stay here. Iโ€™ll get it for you.โ€ Elyse nodded curtly, making no effort to accompany him. Jayden retrieved the suitcase from the room with the lifeless body of the female receptionist. The corpulent man had fled, leaving a trail of blood.

Choosing not to chase him, Jayden hastened back to Elyse. He quickly found an unoccupied room, allowing Elyse to shower in peace. After she finished, they both left the building.

Exhausted, Elyse began to drift off to sleep in the car. Drowsily, she inquired, โ€œAre we setting off now, or should we rest here?โ€

With dawn only two hours away, Jayden proposed, โ€œLetโ€™s take a short break. Iโ€™ll drive us to the nearest town in a couple of hours so we can get some proper rest.โ€
