Chapter 1151:
George rushed toward him, shouting, โWait! What do you want me to do with your violin?โ Rickeyโs smile remained calm. โDo whatever feels right. And please, take care of Elyse.โ Before George could speak again, Rickey was pulled away into a swirling vortex. In the distance, George heard Anthonyโs voice cutting through the dream. โDad, stop dozing off. Itโs time to eat something. Youโve been asleep all afternoon.โ George opened his eyes to find Anthonyโs face hovering inches away. He groaned, โAnd whatโs all this about, you little rascal?โ Anthony blinked in shock. โWhy are you snapping at me? Iโm trying to look after you, and youโre giving me grief? Just because youโre laid up in the hospital doesnโt make you king of the house. Iโm not here to pamper you!โ George snarled and, with a bit of effort, slowly pushed himself up into a sitting position. Anthony placed the food tray in front of him. โCome on, eat. Youโre too old to be skipping meals like some rebellious teenager just because youโre in a mood.โ Ignoring his sonโs fussing, George asked, โWhereโs Elyse?โ Anthony replied, โShe went back to the hotel to rest. Why do you want to know?โ โCall her. Tell her to come over. Iโve got something to say to her,โ George ordered, his voice firm. Anthony raised an eyebrow. โOut of the blue? Why now?โ George shot him a sharp look that made Anthony flinch. โJust call her.โ With a sigh, Anthony relented. โAlright, alright, Iโll call her.โ As he started dialing, George added, โAnd bring me the violin from home.โ Anthony blinked in confusion. โThe violin? What do you need that for?โ โJust do as I say. Why is it so hard for you to follow a simple order?โ George smacked Anthony lightly on the shoulder. Grumbling under his breath, Anthony rubbed his shoulder. โFine, since youโre the one lying in a hospital bed, Iโll go along with it.โ Meanwhile, Elyse received the call when she got back to the hotel. They agreed to meet at the hospital around 6 p.m. After the call, Elyse told Edward about the sudden meeting. He frowned, puzzled. โWhatโs got that old man so keen to see you all of a sudden? And why the rush?โ Elyse shook her head, equally mystified. โIโm not sure, but Anthony said itโs something good. Iโll go and see.โ Edward, slipping his arm around her waist, said, โBefore you go rushing off, how about we enjoy a candlelit dinner? After we eat, Iโll take you to the hospital.โ Elyse smiled and nodded. They stepped into a cozy restaurant, ordered a few dishes, and enjoyed their meal. But when they went to settle the bill, they were met with a surprise. The cashier smiled and said, โYour bill has already been taken care of.โ . . .
