Chapter 1348:
Jayden raised an eyebrow. โWho told you that?โ
Gregโs response dripped with sarcasm. โItโs the talk of the entire companyโs group chat.โ He scoffed. โEveryoneโs convinced Owen Group is saved with you back. Theyโre all saying youโll stop the takeover!โ
Jayden nodded solemnly. โTheyโre correct. If I return, Owen Group will indeed be saved.โ
โYou think youโre some kind of hero?โ Greg burst out. โOwen Group doesnโt need you to survive!โ
At that moment, Debora entered. Her eyes narrowed upon seeing Greg. โShouldnโt you be at your desk working? What are you doing here?โ
Greg pointed an accusing finger at Jayden. โI heard heโs here!โ
โIโm well aware,โ Debora snapped back. โI invited him.โ
โBut heโs a traitor!โ Gregโs voice was tinged with disbelief.
โEnough, Greg! Get back to your office and stop parading around like you run this place. Youโre in no position to confront Jayden,โ Deboraโs voice was sharp, her patience clearly worn thin.
With a firm hand, she ushered Greg out of the office, then turned back to Jayden. โLetโs go. We shouldnโt keep Brook waiting any longer.โ
Debora led Jayden through the bustling corridors to Brookโs dimly lit office. Brook appeared worn out, the recent tumultuous events casting shadows across his weary face.
โBrook, Jaydenโs arrived. Perhaps you two should haveโฆโ
Casting a quick glance at Jayden, then at Brook, Debora noted the lack of invitation in their stoic expressions. With a subtle nod, she excused herself, disappearing as silently as she had entered.
Brook released a heavy sigh, his eyes slowly rising to meet Jaydenโs. โWhy are you here? After walking out on us, why come back? If youโve chosen to leave, then keep your distance.โ
โIโve come to propose a partnership. Are you interested?โ Jayden countered, his smirk barely concealing his anticipation.
Brookโs confusion flickered momentarily before he gave a slow, contemplative nod.
Elsewhere, Greg stomped back to his desk, fury boiling within him. Sneaking a call to his parents behind Deboraโs back, his voice trembled with outrage.
โDad! You need to come to the companyโJaydenโs returned!โ Greg bellowed into the phone. โHeโs prancing around as if he owns the place, looking down on everyone here!โ
The catharsis of his rant left Greg slightly relieved. Hanging up, he was startled by Debora suddenly at his side, tapping on his desk.
โGood Lord, Debora! You nearly gave me a heart attack!โ he exclaimed, quickly averting his gaze.
Deboraโs gaze sharpened. โIs there something youโre not telling me?โ
