Chapter 1348:

Jayden raised an eyebrow. โ€œWho told you that?โ€

Gregโ€™s response dripped with sarcasm. โ€œItโ€™s the talk of the entire companyโ€™s group chat.โ€ He scoffed. โ€œEveryoneโ€™s convinced Owen Group is saved with you back. Theyโ€™re all saying youโ€™ll stop the takeover!โ€

Jayden nodded solemnly. โ€œTheyโ€™re correct. If I return, Owen Group will indeed be saved.โ€

โ€œYou think youโ€™re some kind of hero?โ€ Greg burst out. โ€œOwen Group doesnโ€™t need you to survive!โ€

At that moment, Debora entered. Her eyes narrowed upon seeing Greg. โ€œShouldnโ€™t you be at your desk working? What are you doing here?โ€

Greg pointed an accusing finger at Jayden. โ€œI heard heโ€™s here!โ€

โ€œIโ€™m well aware,โ€ Debora snapped back. โ€œI invited him.โ€

โ€œBut heโ€™s a traitor!โ€ Gregโ€™s voice was tinged with disbelief.

โ€œEnough, Greg! Get back to your office and stop parading around like you run this place. Youโ€™re in no position to confront Jayden,โ€ Deboraโ€™s voice was sharp, her patience clearly worn thin.

With a firm hand, she ushered Greg out of the office, then turned back to Jayden. โ€œLetโ€™s go. We shouldnโ€™t keep Brook waiting any longer.โ€

Debora led Jayden through the bustling corridors to Brookโ€™s dimly lit office. Brook appeared worn out, the recent tumultuous events casting shadows across his weary face.

โ€œBrook, Jaydenโ€™s arrived. Perhaps you two should haveโ€ฆโ€

Casting a quick glance at Jayden, then at Brook, Debora noted the lack of invitation in their stoic expressions. With a subtle nod, she excused herself, disappearing as silently as she had entered.

Brook released a heavy sigh, his eyes slowly rising to meet Jaydenโ€™s. โ€œWhy are you here? After walking out on us, why come back? If youโ€™ve chosen to leave, then keep your distance.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ve come to propose a partnership. Are you interested?โ€ Jayden countered, his smirk barely concealing his anticipation.

Brookโ€™s confusion flickered momentarily before he gave a slow, contemplative nod.

Elsewhere, Greg stomped back to his desk, fury boiling within him. Sneaking a call to his parents behind Deboraโ€™s back, his voice trembled with outrage.

โ€œDad! You need to come to the companyโ€”Jaydenโ€™s returned!โ€ Greg bellowed into the phone. โ€œHeโ€™s prancing around as if he owns the place, looking down on everyone here!โ€

The catharsis of his rant left Greg slightly relieved. Hanging up, he was startled by Debora suddenly at his side, tapping on his desk.

โ€œGood Lord, Debora! You nearly gave me a heart attack!โ€ he exclaimed, quickly averting his gaze.

Deboraโ€™s gaze sharpened. โ€œIs there something youโ€™re not telling me?โ€
