Chapter 1365:
Hanley stopped, puzzled by the discussion. Shaun appeared troubled. โI was almost married once. Why were you so harsh to her?โ
โAlmost married? To whom? Tracy?โ
Hanley immediately caught on, seeing Shaunโs serious expression. He retorted with a sneer, โYouโre suggesting I drove your fiancรฉe away? You were the one who drove her away, not us.โ
Jayden bit his lip and added, โThatโs the reality. You didnโt value or respect her, so why would your family?โ
Shaun fell silent, then asked, โWhatโs her name?โ
โTracy Bernard, I think,โ Hanley replied uncertainly. He never really approved of Tracy as a daughter-in-law; she didnโt seem right for Shaun. Shaun sought a powerful alliance to ensure his familyโs ongoing strength and prosperity.
After a brief pause, Hanley added instinctively, โTracy isnโt right for you. She offers no benefit to our family. You might want to look for a different wife. If Dolores isnโt to your liking, there are plenty of other affluent women.โ
He realized Shaun hadnโt replied. Sitting on the hospital bed, Shaun visibly shuddered at the mention of Tracyโs name.
Seeing this, Jayden asked tensely, โAre you alright? Do you feel ill?โ
Shaun raised his hands, gazing at his palms. His lips trembled as he stuttered, โTracy? Who is Tracy, and why does the name sound so familiar? Have we met?โ
Jayden responded, โTracy was the love of your life. You almost married her.โ
Shaunโs lips quivered. He whispered faintly, โTracyโฆ my loveโฆโ
Suddenly, he cried out in agony, clutched his head, and started banging it repeatedly against the wall.
Hanley froze in horror as Shaun smashed his head against the wall. The bandages around his forehead darkened with fresh blood, each impact soaking through another layer.
โShaun, stop! Please, stop!โ Hanley snapped, lunging forward and gripping his sonโs shoulders.
But Shaun didnโt respond. He kept going, as though he couldnโt feel the painโor perhaps welcomed it.
Jayden, standing at a distance, jabbed the emergency call button. Within moments, the door burst open, and a flurry of white coats swarmed in, restraining Shaun and administering a sedative.
Shaun stopped resisting. His body slackened, his head drooping before he collapsed onto the bed, slipping into a heavy, drug-induced slumber.
