Chapter 1402

โ€œExactly! So tell your sister to move on. I never loved her. If I did, why would I marry someone else?โ€

Lowellโ€™s lips parted, but no words came. Finally, he managed, โ€œBut your wifeโ€ฆ?โ€

Before he could finish, the bodyguard placed a firm hand on Lowellโ€™s shoulder. โ€œSir, donโ€™t,โ€ the bodyguard warned quietly.

Lowell looked at him, sensing the unspoken tension. Shaun frowned, clearly annoyed. โ€œWhat about my wife? Do you know where she is? Can you get her to visit me? Iโ€™ve been stuck here all this time, and she hasnโ€™t even come to see me!โ€

Lowellโ€™s expression was conflicted. โ€œI donโ€™t have her contact information. Youโ€™ll have to ask someone else,โ€ he replied softly.

โ€œFine, a quick visit,โ€ Shaun grumbled, his annoyance palpable. He swung his legs off the bed, snatched his coat from the bodyguard, and strode out briskly.

Lowell followed, leading the way to his sisterโ€™s hospital ward. Dolores lay patiently in her bed, her eyes flickering with a faint glimmer of animation. If she had the strength, she would have sought out Shaun herself.

The moment the door opened, anticipation lit her face. Shaun entered, his features stern. Dolores, overcome with joy, tried to speak, her voice muffled by the oxygen mask.

Quick to ease her discomfort, Lowell gently removed the mask.

โ€œShaunโ€ฆ youโ€™re here. Iโ€™ve missed you terribly,โ€ Dolores murmured, her voice trembling, tears gathering in her eyes.

Shaunโ€™s face remained impassive. โ€œYou look awful.โ€ Dolores, stunned, stared at him, her heart sinking. โ€œCrying just makes it worse,โ€ he added.

Lowell quickly intervened. โ€ฆ
