Chapter 276:

Jayden had long suspected Glenda wasn't Elyse's biological mother. Otherwise, he couldn't understand why Lanny and Glenda treated Elyse so poorly. Even his self-centered mother, who acted only in her own self-interest, occasionally showed concern for him due to their familial bond, though her care disgusted him.

Jayden frowned. He had a bad feeling. Glenda clearly didn't love Elyse, so why invite her to a hotel?

Jayden ordered, in a serious tone, "Have my car prepared. I'll go look for her myself."

Driscoll was confused but didn't dare question his boss. He immediately contacted another driver. Soon, Jayden was speeding toward the hotel.

He was sick with worry, imagining terrible things Glenda might do to Elyse. He screeched to a halt and rushed upstairs, only to find Elyse's driver fighting a fat, middle-aged man.

His hunch was confirmed. Gritting his teeth, Jayden entered the room and found Elyse motionless in bed. Seeing her triggered a primal response; rationality vanished.

Closing his eyes, Jayden loosened his collar and strode toward the middle-aged man. The driver, though smaller, fought valiantly, but the man landed several punches.

Retreating, the driver spat out blood and said, "Sir, he was hired by Mrs. Owen's mother to rape Mrs. Owen."

The middle-aged man, unaware of the situation's gravity, raised his leg to kick the driver. Jayden kicked him first, sending him sprawling.

"Did you touch her?" Jayden asked in a chilling voice, his bloodlust filling the corridor. He pressed his leather shoe onto the man's leg, eliciting a shriek.

The man, realizing his mistake, roared, "Fuck you! Do you know who I am? I'm a manager at Universal Records! You're dead!"

A cruel smile touched Jayden's lips. Narrowing his eyes, he increased the pressure.

"Argh, my leg!" The man's screams echoed. He soon blacked out.

The driver, witnessing the brutality, leaned against the wall, nearly vomiting. He'd heard stories of Jayden's ruthlessness, but this confirmed them. He swallowed hard and reported, "Sir, I saw Mrs. Owen's mother show him into the room. She wanted him to rape your wife and take scandalous photos."

Jayden didn't reply. He propped the man's chin with his shoe, studying his face, before returning to the room. Elyse slept soundly, drugged with sleeping pills, unaware of his actions.

He watched her for a long time, then scooped her into his arms and carried her out. At the door, he told the trembling driver, "I'll send Tobin to handle this. Leave when he arrives."

The driver nodded, still shaking. Jayden carefully placed Elyse in his car and drove home, where Driscoll and the family doctor waited anxiously.

The doctor examined Elyse and announced, "Sleeping pill overdose. Not lethal, but she won't wake until tomorrow."

Jayden's voice was ice. "Get her to wake up sooner."

The doctor, terrified, immediately attended to Elyse and then fled.

Alone with Elyse, Jayden tucked her in. He then texted Tobin. Tobin, having finished cleaning the hotel, saw the text. Knowing Jayden's disability was a ruse, he went to Lanny's residence. Lanny, confused and excited by the assistant's unexpected visit, ushered him in.

"Mr. Carman, it's an honor. How may I help you?"

Tobin scanned the room, then addressed Lanny: "Mr. Owen banned Mabel Lloyd from show business and pulled her album. If your wife and Mabel are unhappy, they should address it with him, not Mrs. Owen. He also demands an apology from your wife and daughter."
