Chapter 292:

Freddy, a striking figure who had attracted numerous admirers in college, remained single, rejecting all advances. Rebekah couldn't recall when her feelings for him began, but she had pursued him relentlessly, wanting no one else. Unabashedly displaying her admiration, she gazed at him with affection, declaring, "You have undeniable charm, rivaling any man."

Feeling uncomfortable in his bathrobe, Freddy replied, "Had you not drunkenly vomited on me, would I even be here in this hotel shower?" Rebekah offered a sheepish smile, concealing her ulterior motive.

Maintaining a cold demeanor, Freddy started to put on his pants, but Rebekah stopped him, hugging his waist. He tensed.

Despite his efforts, he couldn't push her away. "Are you crazy? Let go of me!" he exclaimed.

She held on firmly. "I won't. You know how much I love you. I confessed earlier. Have you made a decision? Will you be my boyfriend?"

He clenched his teeth. "I haven't decided. Let go of me." With a surge of strength, he pushed her to the floor.

Tears welled in Rebekah's eyes. "You have feelings for Elyse, don't you? Even after her marriage, you never gave up on her."

Freddy remained silent, his gaze cold. He knew he did have feelings for Elyse. News of her marriage had shocked him; for days, he'd felt like a shell, devoid of vitality. Seeing Elyse back home with Jayden finally made the reality sink in.

Surprisingly, he felt no animosity toward Jayden. His anger was directed inward, at his own hesitations and fears. Reflecting on missed opportunities to confess his love, a bitter smile touched his lips. Elyse, despite their long acquaintance, remained unaware of his feelings.

Breaking from his thoughts, Freddy turned to Rebekah. Observing her sorrow, he forced a smile. "She's married. It's impossible for us to be together."

But Rebekah wanted more than acknowledgment. She craved assurance that he'd let go of Elyse and could accept her completely.

Refusing to relent, she rose, her voice filled with determination. "I'm not like Elyse. My love is only for you. Why can't you choose me? What's holding you back?"

Freddy chuckled. "You love me? How can you prove your commitment?"

Anxious to convince him, Rebekah showed him her phone, displaying a substantial bank account balance. "Look, I have hundreds of thousands of dollars. We can build a happy life together."

A flicker of surprise crossed Freddy's face. Where had she acquired such wealth? Earlier, she'd given him a watch worth over a hundred thousand dollars. He recalled her modest family background, leaving him puzzled.

Lost in thought, he couldn't shake the mystery of her sudden affluence. Misinterpreting his silence, Rebekah believed her offer was working. Encouraged, she pressed against him, embracing him.

"As long as you're with me, I can buy you anything," she said, smiling. Noticing his lack of resistance, she boldly touched his belt.

Rebekah had invited Freddy to dinner at a hotel restaurant, intending to lure him to a hotel room. Knowing he was a neat freak, she'd intentionally gotten drunk and vomited on him, believing he'd need a hotel room to shower.

She didn't see her actions as wrong; she believed she was doing whatever it took. Blushing, she asked affectionately, "It's not that we're incompatible. Why can't we be together?"

Just as his bathrobe threatened to slip, Freddy grabbed her hand. Under his intimidating stare, she recoiled, stepping back.
