Chapter 357:

After the shocking revelation, Corrie slammed her hand on the steering wheel in frustration. "Jayden, why did you lie to me?"

Jayden, unscathed by the car accident, had falsely claimed to be permanently disabled. This deception led Corrie to believe she had to flee overseas for a year. Corrie felt that if Jayden hadn't lied, she wouldn't have left and would have stayed by his side. Her initial abandonment of Jayden fueled his anger and thoughts of harming her after she discovered his secret. The image of Jayden gripping her neck, his eyes cold and malicious, sent a shiver down her spine.

"He's still a madman; nothing has changed," she muttered, taking a deep breath before leaving.

Upon learning Corrie had discovered his secret, Jayden immediately instructed Tobin to threaten her to prevent exposure. Using Corrie's parents as leverage seemed strategically sound.

Jayden retreated to his study to resume work. As afternoon arrived, he noticed he hadn't received spending records from Elyse. Hadn't Elyse mentioned spending five million dollars? Why hadn't she spent a penny? He picked up his phone and, after a moment's hesitation, dialed Elyse's number. The phone rang before she answered.

Jayden demanded, "Where are you?"

A man's voice replied, "She's asleep. I'll bring her to the parking lot and have her call you back."

Jayden, unfamiliar with the voice, asked, "Who are you?"

The man chuckled and hung up, leaving Jayden bewildered. A surge of rage led him to smash his computer. Startled by the noise, Driscoll knocked. "Mr. Owen, are you alright? What's happening?"

Jayden stormed out, his voice cold. "Find out what Elyse did after she left today and who she met."

Driscoll was perplexed. "What's going on?"

"There was a man with her," Jayden spat. Driscoll's conflicted expression revealed a mixture of emotions.

Anger consumed Jayden. He couldn't stop thinking about killing someone. "She didn't tell me there was a man with her. She even dozed off with him and let him answer her phone. What does Elyse think of me?"

Driscoll scratched his chin. Was Jayden jealous? He'd never seen this side of Jayden before and felt grateful to Elyse for revealing it. Clearing his throat, he suggested, "Mr. Owen, perhaps you should ask her directly instead of investigating. It would be faster and easier to resolve any misunderstandings."

"Misunderstandings? Letting another man use her phone—is that a misunderstanding?" Jayden retorted.

Driscoll couldn't understand Jayden's fury. It seemed trivial to help Elyse answer a call. Puzzled, he asked, "Why are you so enraged? Is her phone any different?"

Jayden was silent before responding bitterly, "That's the phone I bought for her. It's for her use only. No one else should use it."

Driscoll remained silent. Jayden's reaction reminded him of a childhood party at the Owen residence. Jayden had given a toy to a friend who carelessly shared it, upsetting Jayden deeply. He'd severed ties with the friend. Driscoll sighed; Jayden hadn't matured.

"Prepare the car. I'm going to find her," Jayden said, putting on his coat.

Driscoll intervened. "Certainly, but you don't know her location. Why not wait for her to give you the address?"

Jayden, stopped in his tracks, sank onto the sofa. Servants tiptoed past, fearing his wrath. Half an hour later, Jayden, feigning sleep, tapped his feet restlessly. Why hadn't she called? Was she enjoying herself with that man?

The phone vibrated, jolting Jayden awake. He answered with a somber smile. Sensing his mood, Elyse spoke hesitantly.

With a grim smile, Jayden asked, "Where on earth are you?"

Elyse gave him an address.

"Stay there. I'm coming," Jayden growled. "And I expect you to introduce me to this man. I'll treat him to a meal."
