Chapter 385:

Elyse shook her head. "I won't overdo it," she explained. "My heart failure was a medication reaction. Once it's treated, it won't happen again. I just feel a little weak." Reassured, Fiona turned to Irving. "Even if Elyse is physically weak, surely she can still pass the first round, right?"

Irving considered this. "You're right," he agreed. "If she can't even pass the first round, she shouldn't have joined our studio. She needs the right talent to be here."

Elyse refused to be belittled and insisted on leaving the hospital immediately. Jayden, initially hesitant, finally agreed after Peyton gave her a thorough checkup. "You're generally healthy," Peyton said. "Just a bit of low blood sugar. Eat well to avoid dizziness." Elyse nodded, took her report, and went home with Driscoll.

At home, Elyse immediately began practicing the violin. "Oh my, you should take it easy," Driscoll cautioned. "You've only just recovered."

Elyse, determined and focused on an upcoming competition, replied, "I'm under Cody's mentorship. Failing the first round isn't an option." Driscoll, worried she was neglecting her health, decided to speak to Jayden.

Having recently left the Celestial Sounds Symphony, Elyse was determined to chase her dreams, seizing every opportunity.

After a restful morning, Jayden went to his office at Bayzee Group, which had been busier than usual with new projects. With Tobin out of town, Eva handled his document deliveries. Finishing her work, she noticed his empty coffee cup. "Mr. Owen," she offered, "would you like some coffee?" He nodded, and she left, smiling.

The door had just closed when Jayden's phone rang. He answered without checking the caller ID. "Jayden, are you free? Could we meet soon?"

It was Enzo. Jayden frowned slightly. "I'll be there shortly."

"It's a long way from Bayzee Group," Enzo said calmly, chuckling softly. "Don't rush; focus on your work. Your company's stock is doing well."

Jayden's initial shock subsided. He knew his family would eventually discover his role at Bayzee Group; he'd kept it secret for a long time. "I'll be there soon. I won't keep you waiting," he replied calmly.

He entered his private elevator. Meanwhile, Eva returned with the coffee, expectant. Finding the office empty, her smile faded. She left the coffee and waited, hoping he'd return and try it.

After ten minutes, she received a call from Mia, the chief secretary. Sighing, she left, knowing Mia was displeased by her absence.

Jayden soon arrived at Enzo's house. He found Enzo in the garden, enjoying tea. "Ah, there you are," Enzo said, gesturing to a chair. "It's been a year since we've had a proper conversation."

Jayden pointed to his legs. "I'll sit next to you. This chair isn't convenient."

Noticing Jayden's legs, Enzo asked, "Has the doctor offered any hope of recovery?"

"Thanks for asking, but it seems unlikely," Jayden replied, slightly puzzled by Enzo's focus on his legs.

Enzo poured him tea. "Your company's been quite successful lately, hasn't it?"
