Chapter 442:
After Elyse ended the call, Shaun's car pulled up in front of a villa. "Sorry, I need to step out first," Shaun told Darren and Elyse. He grabbed Tracy's wrist and pulled her from the car.
Tracy resisted fiercely, but eventually, she was exhausted.
Elyse stepped out and looked around. The villa's garden overflowed with rosesโTracy's favorite. Elyse was surprised. She turned to Shaun, puzzled by his apparent concern for Tracy, a contrast to his previous indifference. Elyse remained quiet beside Darren.
As they entered, Shaun kept a firm grip on Tracy, offering the others a smile. "Excuse me. The servants have prepared some food. Please, sit down and enjoy the meal," he said.
Inside, a table laden with seafood awaited them. Darren's eyes lit up at the sight of the lobsters and abalones. "This looks delicious! Can I eat as much as I want?"
Shaun nodded. "These are special dishes from Liverton. Help yourselves."
Elyse glanced at the food, and a wave of nausea hit her. She clutched her chest, bewildered by her sudden discomfort.
Shaun pushed Tracy into a chair. When she tried to stand, he pushed her back down and held a piece of lobster toward her. Locking eyes with Tracy, he said, "Lobster is one of your favorites. If you don't eat it, I'll break your legs."
Tracy trembled and reluctantly ate the lobster.
Elyse watched Tracy's forced meal, then looked at Darren, who was devouring his food. Elyse picked up her fork, but another wave of nausea struck. She fought to control it.
Meanwhile, Tracy, forced to eat several mouthfuls, noticed Elyse hadn't touched her food and had only sipped water. Concerned, she asked, "What's wrong? Don't you like the food? Why aren't you eating?"
Noticing Elyse's untouched plate, Shaun said, "Ms. Lloyd, what would you prefer? I can have the chef make something else."
Elyse quickly waved him off. "No, thank you. I'm not hungry. Water is enough."
Tracy glared at Shaun, angry. "Elyse is my best friend, and you're letting her sit here without eating anything! Are you mistreating her intentionally?"
Tracy's accusation was unexpected, but Shaun responded earnestly. "Ms. Lloyd, please, tell me what you'd prefer. We can prepare anything. Don't be shy."
Elyse held her stomach. She was hungry, but the seafood upset her. After a moment, she requested, "Could I have some fresh fruit, perhaps cherries?"
Shaun hesitated. "It's not cherry season."
Tracy immediately seized the opportunity to express her displeasure. "What do you mean? If my friend wants cherries, you should find..."
