Chapter 451:

Upon hearing this, Jayden narrowed his eyes, a threatening glint appearing. "My secret? What secret?"

Corrie stood frozen, scanning the crowd. Panicked, she repeated, "I don't know! I don't know what your secret is! I don't know!"

Jayden gave her a meaningful look before wheeling away. Corrie watched him leave, then stamped her foot in anger. The Owen men were no good; they were all selfish. Without the Owen family's resources, she wouldn't be subjected to this treatment.

Ignoring her image, she shouted again, gasping for breath and gripping the reception desk. The receptionists kept their distance, wary of her.

"Damn it! Jayden, I'll make things difficult for you," she muttered, her gaze shifting to the elevator.

She wanted to see Enzo, upstairs. Revealing Jayden's secret would expose his pretense of being crippled. But her parents were under Jayden's control. Revealing the secret might endanger them. She was caught in a dilemma.

In the studio, after Elyse had practiced for two hours, Forrest tugged at her clothing and announced, "Elyse, time's up. Stop practicing. Get some rest."

Startled, Elyse looked out the window; it was dusk. Forrest led her to a seat. "Have a rest. I'll take you to dinner."

Confused, she asked, "Why?"

Gazing at her flat belly, Forrest explained seriously, "Because you need nutrition." She was carrying five babies, after all.

Elyse, confused, was about to refuse. Considering her pregnancy, however, she nodded. "You're right. I should supplement my nutrition."

Forrest sighed in relief. "What do you want to eat? It's my treat."

Elyse found this amusing. "Do you have money?"

Forrest nodded. "Mr. Tucker gave me money. He always left money for my meals."

Elyse was surprised. "You ate alone when Mr. Tucker was away?"

With a sense of righteousness, Forrest replied, "Where else could I eat? The school cafeteria's closed on holidays." He began packing his bag. "Let's go."

Impressed by his independence, Elyse felt a surge of motherly love. She touched his head. "Why don't you come to my house for dinner? My chef cooks well."

Forrest hesitated. "You want me to come to your house?"

Elyse smiled and nodded. "Yes."

"If you insist," Forrest replied shyly, fiddling with his hands, "I'll come."

Charmed by his adorable demeanor, Elyse hugged him and kissed his cheek. "You're so cute."

Forrest blushed deeply.

After packing up, Elyse and Forrest drove to her home.

Jayden had been waiting. Seeing them, he asked in surprise, "Where did you find this boy?"

"This is Forrest Greene, another of Mr. Tucker's apprentices," Elyse explained, smiling.

After a long stare at Jayden, Forrest pointed at his nose and declared, "Jerk!"
