Hearing Kaelyn's empathy, Mabel's tears flowed. "I'm completely lost. My mother is imprisoned by Elyse and Jayden, and my father faces jail time for causing a death. My future seems bleak. Kaelyn, what should I do?"

Kaelyn reassured her, "Don't worry. Your father told you to give a document to the lawyer, right? Find out what's in it, and then we can discuss things further after I find a suitable lawyer."

Mabel's voice trembled. "Kaelyn, you've been so kind. But Elyse—that woman is repugnant. Despite living under our roof for years, she committed such a despicable act. Isn't she ungrateful? I'd be too ashamed to face anyone."
