Chapter 634:

Elyse, feeling guilty, avoided eye contact and admitted, "I've been tired lately, so I haven't been able to practice for long."

Gavin sighed. "The competition is less than three months away. You need to push yourself harder, or you'll embarrass yourself on a global stage."

Feeling rebellious, Elyse retorted, "I doubt it! I'm confident I'll earn everyone's applause."

Gavin smiled. "Keep at it. You need to continue practicing violin until Mr. Tucker returns."

Looking resigned, Elyse softly replied, "Okay."

Unseen by them, Fiona had been watching from a window for some time. This was her first visit to the studio since her disagreement with Gavin. She had intended to apologize to him, following Cody's suggestion, and resume her practice. However, seeing Elyse, she felt a surge of jealousy.

Elyse already had Jayden. Why was she so close to Gavin? Shouldn't being married mean avoiding even the appearance of impropriety with other men?

Fiona clenched her teeth and stormed off, deciding not to enter.

Later, while shopping at the mall, Fiona felt envious watching couples. In a luxury handbag store, she saw a man buying bags for his wife. The woman's joyful expression fueled Fiona's jealousy. She found herself thinking about Elyse and Jayden's happy moments, wishing she were with Jayden.

Driven by these emotions, Fiona became determined to see Jayden and convince him she was the right woman for him. She hailed a taxi to the Bayzee Group.

Having recently spent much time at home, Fiona had researched Jayden online, learning that he had been a key figure at the Owen Group and had been disabled in a car accident a year ago. This information was new to her, and she was eager to learn more.

At the Bayzee Group, Fiona told the receptionist, "I'm a friend of Elyse Lloyd, Mr. Owen's wife. I need to speak with Mr. Owen about her."

Elyse's name was well-known at Bayzee Group; Jayden had recently introduced her, and his affection for her was evident. Therefore, the receptionist quickly relayed the message.

Although allowed to proceed, Fiona felt only bitterness. The receptionist's demeanor changed noticeably at the mention of Elyse's name. Fiona imagined replacing the receptionist once she became Jayden's wife.

After taking the elevator to Jayden's office, Fiona paused at the door as Tobin appeared. He looked at her suspiciously. "Are you really a friend of Mrs. Owen?"

Fiona snapped, "Why wouldn't I be? I'm her violin practice partner."

Tobin remained cautious. "You said you're here to discuss something about Mrs. Owen?"

Fiona continued her deception. "Yes. Is there a problem?"

"What is the matter?" Tobin asked politely, but his suspicion remained.

Irritated, Fiona retorted, "It's something I need to discuss with Jayden. Don't delay things."

After a brief hesitation, Tobin knocked on Jayden's door and entered. He relayed the situation, and Fiona heard Jayden say, "Let her in." She smiled triumphantly.

Tobin, without comment, opened the door, but his gaze was icy. He was a dedicated supporter of Elyse and deeply suspicious of women approaching Jayden with ulterior motives. (Fiona had previously been fired by Tobin and was forbidden from seeing Jayden again.)
