Chapter 668:

Yet, the harder he tried to block her from his mind, the more persistently memories of Elyse invaded his thoughts. He didnโ€™t see Elyse, but her presence lingered everywhere.

At the Bensonsโ€™ residence in Cambape, Elyse stepped out of the car and was taken aback by the lavishness of the estate. However, she quickly regained her composure.

Staying close to Jayden had exposed her to many luxuries, enriching her knowledge and broadening her perspective.

Unexpectedly, Elyse found herself thinking of Jayden, clouding her expression.

Since leaving Watscar, Elyse had been living in Cambape. Pearce owned several villas there. He had also brought Cody and Gavin to Cambape, where they would live with Elyse and facilitate her intensive violin practice, compensating for the time she had lost due to Jaydenโ€™s distractions.

During the past month, Elyse had dedicated herself to mastering the violin. Her skills advanced swiftly, and Codyโ€™s approval brought her immense relief.

Now, with some downtime, Elyse planned to tackle another significant issue: meeting the Bensons.

A month prior, Pearce had suggested introducing Elyse to his family. However, Felicia Benson, Pearceโ€™s grandmother, had been reluctant to meet her, prompting Pearce to advocate persistently for a month until Felicia finally agreed.

Today was the day.

For Elyseโ€™s introduction, Pearce had invited many of the Benson familyโ€™s relatives.

Dozens of relatives and family connections attended the gathering. The anticipation made Elyse tense as she approached the estate.

Noticing Elyseโ€™s hesitation after she exited the car, Pearce looked at her, puzzled, and asked, โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong? Why arenโ€™t you going in?โ€

Elyse paused, then stated her concerns, โ€œPearce, this whole arrangement feels overly extravagant. Iโ€™m merely coming home, yet so many people are here. Itโ€™s making me a little anxious.โ€

Pearce wrapped his arm around Elyseโ€™s shoulder and said confidently, โ€œWhatโ€™s there to worry about? Iโ€™m here with you. Even if something goes wrong, no one will dare to mock you.โ€

He continued, in a serious tone, โ€œAnyone who mocks you is challenging me.โ€

These words made Elyse even more hesitant.

Nevertheless, Pearce pulled her along.

Once inside, Pearce guided Elyse through several twists and turns until they reached a large garden filled with people. The attendees looked at Elyse with curiosity.

Despite the urge to flee, Elyse maintained her composure and appeared indifferent to the stares.

โ€œYou are Rickeyโ€™s daughter, right? Whatโ€™s your name?โ€ A middle-aged man approached and initiated a conversation.

With a smile, Elyse responded, โ€œMy name is Elyse Lloyd. I use my motherโ€™s last name.โ€

After the man asked a few more questions, the conversation grew awkward, and they stood silently, unsure of what to say next.

Following the middle-aged manโ€™s lead, more people approached Elyse, driven by curiosity.

Elyse answered their questions gently and flawlessly, leaving a positive impression on everyone. That was until a man inquired, โ€œWhat do you do now? I heard youโ€™re involved in the arts. Do you paint?โ€

Elyse shook her head. โ€œI donโ€™t paint, but I play the violin, and I play it quite well. If youโ€™re interested, I could perform for you later.โ€
