Chapter 753:

Aarya pouted, clearly unhappy. โ€œIf you wonโ€™t come out to drink with me, I might just come to you. One way or another, youโ€™re going to have a drink with me tonight.โ€

Elyseโ€™s eye twitched, sensing Aaryaโ€™s stubborn intent.

With a sigh, she relented. โ€œAlright, Iโ€™ll come.โ€

Aaryaโ€™s mood brightened immediately. โ€œGreat, hurry up then. Iโ€™ll text you the address and the number of my private room.โ€

After ending the call, Elyse sat on her bed, taking a deep breath. She felt uneasy about the night.

She quickly changed clothes and informed Edward of Aaryaโ€™s invitation. He asked for the address and room number but offered no further comment. His aloof demeanor left Elyse feeling unsettled. Didnโ€™t he care about her well-being?

Determined not to involve Irving and Gavin, she departed from the hotel alone.

Reaching the club, she paused at the private roomโ€™s door, taking a moment before entering.

Aarya greeted her with a cheerful wave. โ€œYouโ€™re here at last! Weโ€™ve been waiting for you!โ€

Elyse scanned the room. Two other women and a man were there, all dressed in tight attire, giving off an untrustworthy vibe.

Frowning slightly, Elyse turned to Aarya. โ€œI thought you said you were here by yourself?โ€

Aarya nodded. โ€œI was alone when I called, but these friends showed up after.โ€

Realizing Aarya had deceived her, Elyseโ€™s first instinct was to leave, but the woman nearest the door rose, extended her leg, and blocked her path.

โ€œLeaving so soon? Youโ€™ve come all this way. Why not stay for a drink or two?โ€ the woman said, popping her gum.

โ€œDonโ€™t be harsh with my new friend, Nancy. Youโ€™re intimidating her,โ€ Aarya chided.

โ€œAlright, alright, Iโ€™ll back off,โ€ Nancy Larson retorted, glancing at Elyse before returning to the sofa.

Elyse sensed something was wrong; Aarya likely had negative intentions.

Noticing Elyse still standing, Aarya said, โ€œCome on, donโ€™t just stand there. Sit down.โ€

Elyse looked at Aarya. โ€œYour friends are here, so Iโ€™ll be going.โ€

Nancy, by the doorway, lifted her leg, blocking Elyseโ€™s path. She shot Elyse a lazy look. โ€œWhy are you leaving already? Are you looking down on us? Canโ€™t you even stay for a drink?โ€

Elyse stared at Nancyโ€™s leg, a cold glint in her eyes. Her voice turned icy. โ€œYou think staying for a drink means I respect you? You must have a pretty low opinion of yourself.โ€

Taken aback, Nancy laughed scornfully. โ€œWeโ€™re showing you respect by talking to you, and you still donโ€™t appreciate it.โ€

Elyse wasnโ€™t familiar with Nancy, but figured anyone who hung out with Aarya couldnโ€™t be good. โ€œI donโ€™t know you. Why should I stay and have a drink with you?โ€
