Chapter 774: noveldrama

โ€œThatโ€™s enough, Dad,โ€ Aarya interjected sharply. โ€œWhy are you so soft on her? Iโ€™ll take care of this.โ€ With that, Aarya lashed out, striking Elyse across the face.

The slap landed swiftly and harshly. Elyse couldnโ€™t evade it in time, feeling her left cheek begin to swell and throb with intense pain.

Aarya, fueled by fury, grabbed Elyse by the collar and hissed, โ€œDonโ€™t play dumb with me. You were the one who called the cops at the club, right? If not for your call, my friend Rico would still be alive.โ€

Overwhelmed by Aaryaโ€™s relentless anger, Elyse could only endure silently. The mention of Rico left her momentarily confused, struggling to place the name.

After exploding in anger, Aarya broke down, her tears uncontrollable. She sobbed, โ€œRico was my first love, my very first boyfriend. To lose him in such a violent wayโ€”itโ€™s just heartbreaking.โ€

Charlieโ€™s expression darkened with concern. โ€œAarya, itโ€™s over now. Why dwell on the past? Remember, Jayden is with you.โ€

Through her tears, Aarya wailed, โ€œNo! I want Rico back. He was everything to me, my first in so many ways.โ€

As Charlie grew increasingly frustrated by the scene, he couldnโ€™t help but shout, โ€œAarya!โ€

Jayden finally intervened, moving to Aaryaโ€™s side to offer comfort. โ€œDonโ€™t grieve, Aarya. Rico was important, but heโ€™s gone. Iโ€™m here now. I promise to look after you, just as he would have wanted,โ€ Jayden reassured her gently.

Aarya covered her face, weeping. โ€œIโ€™m so sad. I missed Ricoโ€™s funeral because I was in prison. I feel like such a failure.โ€

Jayden firmly shook his head. โ€œYouโ€™re not a failure. None of this is your fault. Thereโ€™s no reason for you to feel guilty about circumstances beyond your control.โ€

Aaryaโ€™s voice rose in desperation. โ€œIf itโ€™s not my fault, then who is to blame? Tell me!โ€

Jayden gently rubbed her back, speaking calmly, โ€œIt was Elyseโ€™s fault.โ€

Elyse, standing apart, slowly lifted her head, a look of utter disbelief in her eyes.

โ€œSo, itโ€™s all my fault?โ€ she questioned, her voice low.

After a brief silence, Jayden faced Elyse directly. โ€œIf not you, then who else could be responsible?โ€

Elyseโ€™s eyes welled with tears as Jayden watched the sorrow overflow, streaming down her face. Clutching her jaw tightly, Elyse declared, โ€œYou all are insane. I want to leave. I canโ€™t stay here with any of you.โ€

โ€œDo you even think you deserve to go home?โ€ Jaydenโ€™s voice was sharp as he grabbed Elyse by the collar and yanked her toward the door.

Charlieโ€™s eyes widened in surprise and confusion at the sudden violence, but he followed quickly. Behind them, Aarya remained oblivious, lost in her own world of grief over Ricoโ€™s death, her sorrow consuming her entirely.

Outside, the world was a stark contrast to the heated emotions inside; large, gentle snowflakes fell quietly from the sky, blanketing the ground in soft white. Without a word, Jayden dragged Elyse into this cold canvas and threw her down into the snow.

Looming over her, he scoffed, โ€œWho are you trying to fool with that pathetic act? Do you really think I have any feelings left for you?โ€

Elyseโ€™s eyes blazed with a mixture of anger and pain as she met his gaze. She had never harbored any illusions about Jaydenโ€™s feelingsโ€”no one who truly loved would treat another this way.

Jaydenโ€™s gaze was icy as he commanded, โ€œKneel here until Aarya calms down.โ€

The silence that followed was heavy, punctuated only by the soft hiss of falling snow. Finally, Elyse laughedโ€”a sound more bitter than amused. โ€œKneel until Aarya calms down?โ€ she echoed, disbelief and despair mingling in her voice.
