Chapter 794:

But just as she moved, the waitress, delivering drinks, bumped into her, spilling the entire tray of glasses onto her expensive coat.

Aarya screamed, her voice shrill with rage. โ€œThis is my new limited-edition coat, and youโ€™ve ruined it!โ€

Her fury blinding her, she grabbed the waitress and delivered a sharp slap.

Edward, being closest, quickly intervened, catching her wrist. โ€œDonโ€™t be ridiculous!โ€ he scolded sternly. โ€œSolve the problem properly. Donโ€™t take it out on the innocent.โ€

Infuriated, Aarya kicked Edward in the stomach. โ€œYou pauper! Mind your own business, or Iโ€™ll kill you too!โ€

โ€œEnough!โ€ Jaydenโ€™s voice cut through the tension. His expression hardened as he strode over to Aarya. He didnโ€™t flinch as he met her fiery gaze. โ€œApologize. Now.โ€

Aarya couldnโ€™t believe it. โ€œIt wasnโ€™t my fault, and you still want me to apologize? Whatโ€™s wrong with you?โ€

Keeping his composure, Jayden replied, โ€œIt wasnโ€™t your fault at first, but hitting the waitress definitely was.โ€

โ€œShe ruined my coat! Why should I have to pay for her mistake?โ€ Aarya protested, lifting her coat to show Jayden the stained spot.

Jayden stayed calm. โ€œYou rushed over. If youโ€™d stayed in your seat, the waitress wouldnโ€™t have spilled the drinks on you.โ€

Aarya fell silent, momentarily stunned. She knew Jayden was right. Thinking about it, she realized she was partly at fault.

Growing up, she had always been pampered by her father. Even when she messed up, his unwavering indulgence made it easy to blame others. As a result, Aarya never really felt she was in the wrong.

But since being with Jayden, things had shifted. Suddenly, every mistake felt like hers, as if she was always in the wrong. She was upset about it, but couldnโ€™t voice her frustrations to Jayden. She was afraid of disappointing him.

Jayden glanced at the trembling waitress, sighed, and said, โ€œYou can go. I wonโ€™t hold you responsible.โ€

The waitress, visibly relieved, apologized profusely before hurrying away.

Watching Jayden let the waitress leave, Aaryaโ€™s anger flared. โ€œWhy did you let her go? She didnโ€™t even pay for my coat. It was a limited edition.โ€

Jayden kept his composure. โ€œI bought you that coat. Itโ€™s fine. Iโ€™ll get you another one just like it. Letโ€™s not dwell on this.โ€

He then turned his attention to Edward, noticing the footprint on his abdomen. โ€œIโ€™ll get you a new shirt too. Donโ€™t hold it against Aarya. Sheโ€™s a good person, and this isnโ€™t like her.โ€

Edward rubbed his aching midsection. โ€œSeriously? Your girlfriend almost kicked me to death. Iโ€™m convinced she was actually trying to kill me.โ€
