Chapter 83:

The next day, as Elyse and Jayden traveled to the wedding venue, they saw a roadside advertisement for Shaun and Tracy's wedding video. Seeing Shaun's evident affection for Tracy, Elyse breathed a sigh of relief, having worried about his feelings for her friend after yesterday's events.

Upon arriving, Elyse spotted Lowell, sharply dressed in a suit. Remembering his arrogance from the previous day, she approached cautiously, asking, "Are you still trying to ruin the wedding?"

Lowell, noting her apprehension, casually shoved his hands in his pockets and sneered, "What will you do if I am here to ruin it?"

"Then you can try," Jayden responded calmly and confidently, unfazed by Lowell's provocation.

"Well, look at you all on guard. Anyone who didn't know better might think I'm up to no good," Lowell shrugged. "Don't worry. Since I lost to you yesterday, I'll keep my promise."

Elyse remained skeptical. "Can you actually be that honorable?"

"No, I just keep my promises," he retorted, flashing a bank card with a mysterious smile, seemingly oblivious to her distrust.

Elyse's suspicions deepened, her worry evident. Jayden, sensing her nervousness about potential disruptions, reassured her, "Don't worry. I'm here, and I won't let anyone ruin your best friend's wedding."

Comforted, Elyse felt more at ease. She pushed his wheelchair into the venue. They had barely settled when two staff members approached and whispered, "Are you Miss Elyse Lloyd? The bride is in the lounge and would like to see you."

Elyse and Jayden went to the lounge, where Tracy, in a stunning white wedding gown, awaited them.

Upon their arrival, Tracy greeted them joyfully. "I left in such a hurry yesterday and didn't get a chance to thank you. Thank you for your help."

"We're friends. I'm just glad I could help," Elyse replied, handing Tracy the bank card—Lowell's gift. "Keep it."

Tracy accepted the card with a wry smile. The previous evening, Lowell's associates had unwittingly returned her parents home, unaware that they had nearly been kidnapped. They had returned home, still happily chatting about the scenery.

"Has Lowell left?" she asked.

"Yes, he's gone. He couldn't stop the wedding. Why would he stay?" Elyse said, deciding not to mention Lowell's strange behavior.

Changing the subject, Tracy smiled and asked, "Elyse, could you play the violin at my wedding? I want to hold the ceremony with your blessing."

"Okay, no problem," Elyse readily agreed.

After saying goodbye to Tracy, Elyse returned to the venue with Jayden. The staff had prepared a violin, which she tuned before going to a small stage.

"I'm going to play Salut d'Amour. Please enjoy it," Elyse announced.

She began to play, and the guests paused to listen, searching for the music's source. As she played, the lighting and background music subtly shifted.

Shaun, in a white suit and pompadour, walked nonchalantly to center stage. At the opposite end, the spotlight illuminated Tracy, radiant in her wedding dress and veil.

Elyse watched her best friend, wishing her happiness. Tracy, now in the spotlight, subconsciously clutched her dress, overwhelmed by the reality of her impending marriage. She had pursued Shaun for four years, sharing her best days with him. Their journey had been challenging, but it was, to her, a beautiful culmination. Today was their wedding day.

Although Shaun's feelings might not match her own, Tracy believed her persistent love would eventually make him love her deeply. Her face lit up as she slowly approached Shaun, standing beside him before the officiant.

"Do you vow to take Tracy Bernard as your lawfully wedded wife, to cherish and love her for all the days of your life?" the officiant asked Shaun.

As the crowd waited, a sudden interruption shattered the serenity.

"Wait!"

A woman, stunning in a white dress, burst onto the scene, her gaze fixed on the couple. "Shaun, are you really going to marry her and not me?"

Tracy, unfamiliar with the woman, understood from her question that she and Shaun shared a significant past. "That woman must be…"

Realization dawned on Tracy, wiping the smile from her face and draining the color from her cheeks as she nervously glanced at Shaun.

Instead of dismissing her, Shaun frowned and said, "Dolores, why have you returned?"
