Chapter 97:

Elyse returned home and retreated to her room to practice the violin. Driscoll enjoyed the peaceful melodies emanating from her room. "Elyse's violin skills are truly remarkable," he remarked. Turning, he saw Jayden leisurely sipping tea. Jayden didn't reply, but asked, "What's been happening at Grandpa's house since yesterday?"

Driscoll's demeanor shifted as he answered gravely, "Your parents confronted your grandfather. He insisted that either you or Bryce must marry Joanna."

Jayden slammed his teacup down. His voice was cold. "So they're pushing her onto me instead of Bryce? I'm just their dumping ground."

Driscoll continued, "Joanna has been returned to the Fosters for discipline. They're quite persistent."

The violin music stopped abruptly. Moments later, Elyse rushed downstairs and knocked on the study door. Jayden, settling back in his wheelchair, calmly invited her in.

Elyse entered, her eyes sparkling. "I passed the initial selection! There are two more rounds next week. If I pass the third, I could become concertmaster."

Jayden smiled warmly. "Congratulations! We'll celebrate with a special dinner tonight."

Driscoll, by the window, grinned. "Of course! I'll tell the chef." He headed towards the kitchen.

Noticing Elyse lingering, Jayden asked, "Why not go back to practicing?"

Elyse hesitated. "I have a filming session at the TV station tomorrow. Would you join me? I can arrange your entry."

Jayden replied bluntly, "No." He had a confidential meeting scheduled.

"Why not?" Elyse asked, puzzled.

"I'm busy," Jayden explained.

Elyse was speechless. Jayden spent his days in the study. How busy could he be? Clearly, he didn't want to support her. With forced indifference, she retorted, "Fine. I'll give the pass to someone else."

Huffing, she stormed out. Watching her go, Jayden stroked his chin. "Have I been too kind to her?" He chuckled at her angry departure.

The next morning, Elyse arrived at the TV station with her violin. She met several orchestra members and they waited for others. Once assembled, they went to the dressing room to apply makeup.

After applying makeup, Elyse texted Jayden, asking if he'd finished his work. He didn't respond. "I really don't know what he's so busy with," she muttered.

This was her first television appearance. Feeling a mix of excitement and boredom, Elyse was surprised when Tracy burst in, waving a pass. "Elyse, I'm here!"

Elyse noticed Tracy's appearance. "You've lost so much weight!"

Tracy smiled casually. "Isn't it great? I don't even need to diet anymore."

Elyse scolded gently, "Silly girl, don't be sad over a man."

Tracy reassured her, "Don't worry, I'm happy! Yesterday, a talent scout from a star agency offered me a job as an actress!"

"Seriously?" Elyse gasped.

"Yes! It's legitimate. Will you come with me to sign the contract?" Tracy asked.

"Sure," Elyse agreed.

The dressing room door opened again. Kaelyn, the show's host, entered with her script. "Hello, guys! I'm the host of this show." ... ... ...
