Chapter 122
Claudia’s tone remained gentle, maintaining the maternal image she always projected to Rosalie, as if she hadn't been the one who had behaved so differently just days before.
“I’ll be late. You guys don’t have to wait for me,” Rosalie replied. She would return to the Graham residence. She had no intention of gratuitously donating her possessions to the Graham family. Despite the recent unpleasantness, they were still attempting to reach out, solely because they coveted her 40% stake in the Talley Group.
Rosalie herself owned several research institutes and biotech companies. Even without the Talley Group, she was far from impoverished. That was why she had so generously given Edward the 40% stake. After all, he was her father and in charge of the Talley Group. She had hoped that giving him the shares would grant him more influence within the company.
During her time travel, however, when he started treating Helena better than his own daughter after receiving the shares, Rosalie began to question Helena’s motives.
“It doesn’t matter how late it is. It’s been so long since we’ve had dinner together. We’ve been looking forward to a meal with you,” Claudia said.
“It’s not that long. We had dinner together just a week ago,” Rosalie pointed out, referencing the uncomfortable incident they were attempting to ignore.
As expected, Claudia’s breathing grew heavier and more labored, clearly upset by Rosalie’s reminder.
“Since the atmosphere wasn’t pleasant that day, you probably subconsciously forgot about it. Don’t worry, I’ll help you remember,” Rosalie added, pointedly escalating the situation.
