Chapter 201

They finally arrived at the courthouse. As they sat amidst the paperwork, court staff member Kelly Brown couldn't help but feel sad about the breakup of such a cute couple. She tried to reconcile them. "You guys..."

"Thank you, but we've had a year of cooling off," Rosalie interrupted, anticipating Kelly's suggestion. The cooling-off period, in fact, had begun on their wedding day and continued to the present. Rosalie was weary of it.

Kelly fell silent, feeling awkward. She hadn't even spoken yet; trying to reconcile divorcing couples was simply part of her job. She looked at the man beside Rosalie, who maintained a stern, silent expression. Kelly found him vaguely familiar but couldn't place him.

"Have you two decided to divorce?" Kelly asked.

Julian began, "Actually, I..."

"Yes," Rosalie quickly interrupted, steering the proceedings back on track.

Julian's intense gaze fell on Rosalie's urgent face, and he squinted in displeasure. Then, turning to Kelly with a stern expression, he said, "Yes. I'll divorce her for sure."

Kelly was speechless. She found it odd that Julian emphasized his determination, sensing a hint of regret beneath the surface. It was like Murphy's Law; sooner or later, he would regret this decision. At that moment, however, Julian was unaware of this. In fact, divorcing Rosalie would come at a steep price.

Realizing mediation was futile, Kelly sighed inwardly and returned to the paperwork. As Rosalie reviewed the divorce agreement, a hint of surprise flickered across her usually eager face.
