Chapter 96

Eden considered it, deciding he was likely overthinking. He dismissed it, but Rosalie's voice soon interrupted.

"How's everything going at the lab?" Rosalie asked.

"Smooth sailing, no issues," Eden replied, pausing. "The Galloway Group is working on the same project. From the data I've seen, their progress is about the same as ours."

He smirked at Rosalie, his tone teasing. "That's your husband's company. Should we go easy on them?"

Rosalie, fastening her seatbelt, gave him a side-eye. "Go easy? Julian? You think he's worth it?"

Eden, unaware Rosalie was already planning a divorce, was taken aback. If he hadn't worked for her for years, he would have thought she was joking. Her previous behavior around Julian had been purely lovestruck.

As her assistant, Eden had often wondered how someone so brilliant—an absolute genius—could become so unfocused in relationships.

That's why, after years of observing her repeat the same pattern, he found her blatant disdain for Julian shocking. Then Rosalie casually added, "Oh, Julian and I are getting divorced. So, from now on, don't ever mention me in the same breath as him."

Eden, still reeling from the first shock, was utterly stunned. "You're getting divorced?" he asked, eyes wide.

He could hardly believe the woman who'd practically transformed from a powerhouse into a lovesick romantic because of Julian was now leaving him.

"What changed your mind?" Eden asked again.

Rosalie glanced at him but didn't answer. Instead, she reminded him, "Less talking. Drive."

What changed her mind? Anya had asked the same question. It wasn't something she could explain. If she hadn't experienced the final moments of her past life, if she hadn't been crushed by its weight, she probably would have remained fixated on Julian forever, chasing after him like a fool.
