Chapter 100
Portia glanced at the man with irritation. โDude, are you deaf? Stop bothering us, and let us watch the game in peace.โ
โWho asked you to speak, you little brat?โ The man shot Portia a nasty look. โGrab her, too!โ
โWhat do you think youโre doing?โ Portiaโs eyebrows knitted together in anger.
Calliope stepped before Portia protectively. โTouch her, and youโll regret it. If youโve got something to say, say it to me.โ
Her eyes flashed with a cold intensity.
โOh, playing the hero, huh?โ The tattooed guy sneered, reaching out to grab Calliopeโs chin.
Just then, Lisette rushed over. โWhat are you doing? Keep your hands off my sister!โ
Calliope sighed, and Valerian followed close behind Lisette, looking displeased as he glared at Calliope.
โWow, more pretty faces joining the party. What, you got a thing for us?โ The tattooed guy eyed Lisette, pretending not to recognize her.
Calliope watched Lisette with an amused expression, choosing not to intervene.
The tattooed guy reached for Lisetteโs arm, but she flinched and moved closer to Valerian.
โWhat do you want?โ Valerianโs voice was icy.
โJust trying to have a friendly chat,โ the tattooed guy laughed arrogantly.
โCalliope, look at the kind of trouble you attract!โ Valerian snapped at Calliope.
Calliope chuckled, โAnd which eye of yours saw me attracting him?โ
โIf you hadnโt, would he be talking to you?โ Valerian retorted, annoyed. โGood thing Lisette saw you, or who knows what wouldโve happened. Donโt you realize?โ
โI didnโt ask for your help, did I?โ Calliope laughed again. โDonโt flatter yourself, and mind your own business.โ
โYou-โ
โCallie, donโt be like this. Weโre worried about you,โ Lisette said softly, almost tearfully.
โDonโt call me Callie. It makes me want to puke.โ
โCalliope, whatโs with the attitude? What did Lisette ever do to you to deserve this?โ
Valerian was fuming. Seeing Lisetteโs teary eyes made him even more upset.
โFine, you want us to back off? Weโll back off. Letโs see how you handle this on your own.โ
Valerian pulled Lisette back a few steps, watching Calliope.
Calliope didnโt even glance their way.
The tattooed guy saw his chance and moved closer with his buddies. โHey there, your friends arenโt keen on helping you. Why donโt you come with us? Donโt worry. Weโre just having fun. We wonโt interfere with you and your husband.โ
Calliope smirked, โOh really? I like fun. Why donโt we play a little game?โ
โOh, youโre a feisty one!โ The tattooed guy was eager.
Valerian was nearly boiling over with anger, muttering, โShameless!โ
Just as the tattooed guy was about to touch Calliope, she suddenly twisted his arm with a firm grip. Though her move seemed casual, the strength behind it was formidable.
The tattooed guy, though a burly fellow, found himself completely powerless. He looked at Calliope in disbelief. He was losing it?
What the heck was going on? He couldnโt muster any strength at all!
The pain in his wrist felt like his bones were about to crack, and his initial intention to grab Calliope shifted to a desperate desire to retract his hand.
