Chapter 157

Silas couldnโ€™t help but chuckle at Calliopeโ€™s determination. It was as if she were bracing for some grand battle, and he found it amusing.

Standing beside him, Fagan also found the situation quite funny. He smiled but kept his composure.

โ€œMrs. Myers, here is a complete list of Mr. Myersโ€™ assets. Iโ€™ve been working on organizing everything these days and have finally sorted them out, so Iโ€™m here to report to you.โ€

โ€œMr. Myers owns several properties, which includeโ€ฆโ€

โ€œMr. Myers also has stakes in these companiesโ€ฆโ€

โ€œAnd here are some other assets under Mr. Myersโ€™ nameโ€ฆโ€

Fagan began listing Silasโ€™s assets to Calliope, detailing each one as he went through the list.

Calliope felt a bit overwhelmed as she listened. She glanced at Silas, confused by the situation. This wasnโ€™t at all what she expected if they were heading for a divorce. She had always said sheโ€™d walk away with nothing if it came to that, considering she was the one who had proposed to him. How could she even consider taking his assets?

โ€œMr. Myers has already transferred all these properties to your name. However, there are a few documents that require your signature. Also, these cards here contain Mr. Myersโ€™ funds, and they will be handed over to your care,โ€ Fagan explained.

โ€œNot just for safekeepingโ€“for spending,โ€ Silas interjected, looking up with a soft smile. โ€œAll these are for you to spend as you wish. Everything is yours. Buy whatever you want. If the money runs out, Iโ€™ll earn more for you to spend.โ€

โ€œHuh?โ€ Calliope was baffled. Was she dreaming? Did Silas say she should spend all his money?

โ€œWhat Mr. Myers means to say,โ€ Fagan clarified, โ€œis that these assets are now yours. You can use them however you like, even squander them freely. You can manage them, or notโ€“itโ€™s entirely up to you.โ€

Calliope stared at Silas, bewildered. โ€œAre you terminally ill or something?โ€

โ€œNo, wait. Iโ€™d know if you were sick,โ€ Calliope said, thinking out loud. After all, she was a good doctor. Sheโ€™d have noticed if he were ill. He couldnโ€™t have gone mad, could he? He seemed perfectly sane.

Amused by her concern, Silas said, โ€œIโ€™m not terminally ill, nor am I sick. Youโ€™re my wife, and isnโ€™t it a husbandโ€™s duty to provide for his wife? As Mrs. Myers, you should have control of everything I own. From now on, you give me pocket money. All my money is yours.โ€

Silas said that with a playful tenderness that left Calliope speechless.

She quickly waved her hands. โ€œNo, no. Iโ€™m terrible at managing money and donโ€™t need it. You might not believe this, but Iโ€™m pretty well-off myselfโ€ฆโ€ She was so well-off enough that she didnโ€™t even know the full extent of her own wealth. She could barely manage her own financesโ€“how could she possibly handle Silasโ€™s?

โ€œI know youโ€™re wealthy, but your money is yours, and my money is yours, too. Iโ€™m your husband. Isnโ€™t it only right that you spend my money?โ€ Silas stated confidently, โ€œThe more you spend, the more motivated Iโ€™ll be to earn.โ€

What kind of incredible man was this? Even in a marriage that began as a mere contract, he was willing to be so generous. If it were genuine love, how wonderful would he be?

โ€œMrs. Myers, please just sign these documents,โ€ Fagan prompted from the side. โ€œOnce you do, Iโ€™ll handle the rest, and everything will be officially yours. Even if Mr. Myers wants to make a move, heโ€™ll need your permission.โ€

โ€œBy the way, when do you plan to visit the company?โ€

โ€œWhat? Why would I go to the company?โ€ Calliope asked, surprised by Faganโ€™s question.
