Chapter 230

โ€œWell, to put it simply, Iโ€™m actually pretty well-off. I wouldnโ€™t say Iโ€™m as rich as a king, but Iโ€™m not far off,โ€ Calliope spoke with complete seriousness. โ€œIโ€™ve been lucky. My grandfather left me quite a bit of wealth and assets. When I was younger, I liked to dabble in things, so I started a few businesses here and there โ€“ stores, companies, that kind of thing. I hired good people to manage them, and everything just kept going smoothly. So, the money kept rolling in, and honestly, I lost track of how much I actually have.โ€

She stole a cautious glance at Silas. โ€œI have investments in pretty much every industry, but I donโ€™t really keep up with them.โ€

She was, in every sense, a hands-off business owner. But fortunately, the people she had in place were competent and dedicated, so even without her direct involvement, everything flourished.

Silas furrowed his brows slightly, his striking features unreadable.

Calliope remained silent.

Was he upset? She hadnโ€™t intentionally hidden this from him. It just never seemed important to bring up.

โ€œI wasnโ€™t trying to keep it a secret,โ€ she said carefully. โ€œDonโ€™t be mad, okay? Well, I have other secrets too. Iโ€™ll tell you everything.โ€

Silas looked at her.

โ€œYou know about the Miracle Doctor, right?โ€

โ€œYeah,โ€ he said, his eyes dark and knowing. โ€œYouโ€™re the Miracle Doctor.โ€

Calliope was left speechless.

โ€œYou know Imperial Entertainment?โ€

โ€œYou own it.โ€

Calliope was like, โ€œโ€ฆโ€

She studied him, feeling a strange mix of emotions. He already knew everything.

โ€œNo more?โ€ Silas finally asked after a moment. โ€œThatโ€™s it? No other secrets? Nothing else youโ€™re hiding?โ€

โ€œNope,โ€ she said, shaking her head.

Wellโ€ฆ except for the fact that she had been reincarnated. But even if she did tell him, heโ€™d probably just think she was crazy.

โ€œThen that phone call just now!โ€ he fixed her with a serious look. โ€œListen, ifโ€”and I mean ifโ€”you had a son, I wouldnโ€™t be upset. You wouldnโ€™t have to hide it from me. If you have a son, bring him here. Youโ€™re his mom, so that makes me his dad. Weโ€™ll raise him together.โ€

Calliope was taken aback. She stared at him, torn between laughter and disbelief.

โ€œYou overheard my call?โ€

Silas didnโ€™t answer. His face was slightly tense, his mood clearly not great.

โ€œThat wasnโ€™t my kid. That was Uptonโ€™s son. You know Upton, right? Owner of the Thorne Group?โ€

Calliope went on, โ€œI delivered his baby. There were complications during the birth, and sadly, his mother passed away right after. That kid survived because I fought to save him. So later, when Upton took him back, he insisted that the boy recognize me as his godmother, which technically makes you his godfather.โ€ Calliope gave a wry smile and uttered, โ€œHow can I possibly have a son like that? Besides, my firstโ€ฆโ€ Mentioning the topic made Calliope blush. Her first was with Silas; she was surprised that heโ€™d doubt her.

Silas was momentarily stunned. He almost forgot about it. Heโ€™d become upset and jumped to conclusions just because he overheard someone calling her โ€œMommyโ€ on the phone.

Now that the misunderstanding was cleared up, he let out a slow breath, feeling a weight lift off his chest.

โ€œYou and Upton are close, then?โ€

Since she was Baberโ€™s godmother, frequent interaction with Upton would likely be the case.

โ€œYeah, I guess,โ€ Calliope admitted. โ€œBaber has some health issues, and Iโ€™ve been treating him for a while. Since I see them often, Upton and I have become sort of good friends.โ€
